Suriname was a Dutch colonial territory, so that Suriname flag was indicating that the Netherlands' favourite foreign cuisine is Surinamese

10:03 Jack, in Poland w is pronounced a v - 'e' is pronounced like how you pronounce it in 'bed'. It's not 'loo'... However with Lion the w at the end has a bit of an 'f' mixed into it. 10:50 - again, it's a v sound not a w. And an o with a line above it is pronounced 'oo' (but not in the same way as English, like you did in lew, hard to describe)

On an easier memory technique for this German learner, when you read Polish pronounce it as if it were German, and it should be about right.

Other notable places that switched driving sides from left side to right side (since World War 2): Yemen (1977), Ghana (1974), Sudan (1973), Nigeria (1972), Sierra Leone (1971), Myanmar (1970), Iceland (1968), Ethiopia (1964), Newfoundland (1947). Plenty of other places switched during and before WW2. Too many to list...

The cuisine of Suriname and Indonesia are popular in the Netherlands for similar reasons to Indian being popular in the U.K.: they are former Dutch colonies. I have had some excellent Indonesian food in Amsterdam.

The main reason New Hampshire doesn't have a seat belt law is that there's a general culture of not liking to get told what to do here 😂 and like, we have lower car insurance rates and motor vehicle deaths than most states, so why do we need it?

I would assume that the divide in Poland has to do with German history, since northern Poland was a part of german empire for quite a bit. But not sure. Also, w in polish is pronounced like the english v, and ó is like oo. So the endings are -oov, and -ovo. Also, lew is pronounced like lev

@0:06 Note on that one, the term "Great Britain" can refer to either a political or geographical entity. If referring to the political entity, it includes the entirety of England, Scotland and Wales, as said in the video. But if you refer to the geographical entity it refers to only the largest island, so it omits Isle of Wight, Anglesey, Hebrides etc. that are part of the political entity of Great Britain.

From 3:57 to 4:13 in the video for Nebraska, nickname is the cornhusker state because we have lots of cornfields, and we're in corn belt plus that's our college football team and also we Herby Husker as mascot. Plus, Jack rarely talks about Nebraska (I'm not being rude here. But I'm politely showing him that we're are here.)

Most people dont understand how big the Roman Empire actually was for the time. This was a time where it took two days to go between neighbouring cities, so to maintain control over that big of an area for centuries is what makes it so incredible

Actually Turkey has elections this year too. I think they didn't count it as it's a local election rather than a general one. So basically not presidential or parliamentary, rather one where you elect all sorts of mayors; provincial, metropolitan, district...
