it truly is beautiful. As a one hand backhander girl myself, i know it isn't so easy to pack in power on it. However, when you have the technique right, and can generate crazy spin and place it well, it simply isn't something that can be easily returned though from camera it may look a bit slower. The backhand prep time is also much less than setting up for a double backhand return.

Love seeing Gasparyan doing well, injuries have ruined her, hoping she does well and stays injury free from here on out. Great game, very nice backhand. Best legs on the tour too lol.

Omg, I love Gasparyan's one-handed backhand. I don't know any women on the WTA using one-handed backhand .. except for Carla Suarez who's now retired, right? It's like a dying art. I think it's hard teach kids to play one-handed backhand. She has so much power and control from it, not to mention she has such good form with it.

Of course Kristina would play a nail-biting first set saving multiple break points in her final two service games and then convincingly win the tiebreaker 7-1........and then just roll over and get crushed 6-1, 6-1 in the 2nd and 3rd, ending on a double fault nearly a foot long. Classic Mladenovic.

Gasparyan's bh reminds me of Dominic Thiem's the way she prepares and the way it tails off to the left. It's solid for sure, but it isn't a great strength, IMO, not like Henin's was.

That backhand is not a weapon YET unless she adds more oomph and power to it. She can clearly control it as seen in 2:28, 4:46, 6:44, 6:55 it just needs more power.

Kiki is completely lost in singles, she is very talented and is one of the player I can't understand why she keeps loosing. Honestly she needs to change something and I'm pretty sure she has to leave her mom, dad and brother, she carries them everywhere!!! she has to have a life of her own apart from her parents an d brother...

Had not she been suffering from frequent injuries Gasparayan would have been among the top ones. she offered Kasakina a gift at St Petersburgh due to injury after having boosted out Alexendrova no 1 seeded during tournament...watch out......

Who's the next French woman to break into Top 10? Cornet won't be the one. Mladonevic and Carline Garcia shows promises here and there but could not seem to break thru. Perhaps the field is too strong now with the Czechs and Russians ... too strong of a barrier to entry. There's no room for anyone else.

Kristina makes so many poor strategic choices in singles, hits way too many balls in the middle of the court, and her serve is a powder puff going about 80 kilometers an hour... too bad. Her coaches are not doing a good job at all.
