People who say "why isn't Marina famous" annoy me. She is famous. She has her own little fan base. She's not COMMERCIALLY famous (in the US at least), I'll give you that. But I think you'd be surprised. The other day, I'm A Ruin was #2 on iTunes. That's all of her fans buying the song.

Well, I think she was kind of "big" briefly when Electra Heart came out, she attracted a lot of teenage fangirls with that album.. But I don't think she will care that some of them have been weeded out by now. Obviously Marina IS famous, but I like that she's not a mega star. If she wanted to be a huge star, I'm sure she would be.

I immediately liked this song, but it's amazing how it becomes evenmore powerful over the years. The album as a whole had to grow on me though. It's a lot, you know? Not in a bad way, but every song is very laden with emotion and it takes a while to wrap my head around it.

People complaining about her 'cheap' 'crappy' videos are totally wrong; instead of creating high budget videos which just look fake, Marina is embracing the visual side of music - the beauty of moving with the beat, lighting that matches the song and silks flowing in time with the song. If you need a scripted video with a story for every song, you can't be appreciating the music fully. All her videos have something to do with their songs - even if they don't 'explain' them in full detail. In the end, its the song that counts, not the video.

The reality is that they don't have (or they don't wanna put) money in music videos anymore... You gotta be creative instead! I agree with people who find old Marina's videos better than the Froot ones, but we haven't seen all of them yet, and I'm glad she's doing videos for almost all of her songs so...

I hate those artificial looking, scripted music videos that seem to be every where now a days. Marina does a very good job staying away from falling in that category, but that doesnt mean she is perfect either. I love how she doesnt have to strip down of her clothes or shake her bump to attract people's attention. I love how she can entertain us by just being herself on screen, using her own artistic vision and not the one set by the today's low standard society. But im going to be honest, most of her FROOT music videos have felt like the same thing over and over again. I see her either posing or waving her arms around while singing to the camera. It's pretty to watch and all but i feel like the visuals just are not as rich and unique to the eyes as the sound is to the ears. The music videos for Oh No and Primadonna were just absolutely stunning to watch, they both grabbed my attention within the first few seconds and it stayed that way till the very end. I know making a music video isnt exactly a piece of cake, but i just hope we get another Primadonna or Oh No for this album :D

A fact that nobody ever mentioned: Marina is, besides from her other outstanding talents, an amazing dancer. There is not so much explicit movement here but she definitely feels the music with every fibre of her body. It's also visible on her other videos.

It really fascinates me how Marina isn't 'huge', you know? Like she has solid talent, song writing and an actual personality. It's so interesting. There's something about her that doesn't quite fit into the mould. Is she alternative-pop? I dunno. She's so great.

I was 15 when this came out and I remember listening to it religiously with little to no thought about what her lyrics meant. Fast forward 5 years and I'm 20 now. I understand every single word. I have loved. I have cheated. I have lost. I have had my share of beautiful men. I have done THINGS I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE. I AM A RUIN but the beauty about MARINA is that she shows you it's okay to be a ruin. We're not perfect. We are young and stupid. MARINA found the exact words I was looking for but was too afraid to say them myself. I was hurting him and I knew it but it was just so much easier playing this lovebird facade than walking away. He left me, he was much tougher than I was and although it was hard, it was the best thing that could've happened to me. If you TRULY LOVE someone, never do anything to hurt them. Karma will get you. I learnt the hard way.

This song represents me a lot, I had to break with my irish boyfriend (we were together for 7 years, starting age 19) I was falling apart to a point of no return, we both suffered a lot, maybe he did suffer more than myself :( (its always being said that the person that doesnt expect the break suffers more). He meant a lot to me then, he still means a lot to me, but its a different kind of love/affection. Dont be afraid of choosing what your heart tells you to do. Sometimes relationships can be saved but sometimes don't

This song is very significant for me, since I was going through a moment of loneliness and despair and that's when I met the song, I already liked songs from Marina, I'm not a robot, shampain, valley of de dolls, froot, but I loved this song since I heard it, and since then it reminds me of a bad moment in my life but I overcame it and “I'm the ruin” accompanied me in my loneliness and while I was supposing that bad moment, that's why it brings me so good memories and I LOVE it , thanks MARINA!

I'm proud to be a diamond. Because Marina is awesome, and her fan base can actually brush negativity off and thus aren't easily provoked by random hate. Also, diamonds can understand the difference between an informed a opinion and hate, and respond accordingly. Thus, diamonds are one of the classiest fan bases.
