That was actually a refreshing interview to watch and completely changed how I look at him. Glad I watched it! Also, he was very insightful when he said that it was never about being a football player, but that football is just part of the journey of life that he’ll hit and then move on from. You’re 30 and have (hopefully) 50-70 years left afterwards, so don’t make your life about what you did when you were in your 20s or 30s. Great perspective! I needed to hear those words said that way.

The example that blew my mind was the interception on Russell Wilson to beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Everybody thought it was a great play by the cornerback Little did we know they had a coach literally go over that exact play, and the cornerback was coached to shed the blocker and make the play. Mind blowing stuff. Very few other programs have that level of commitment

I love the distinction Martellus makes between Brady and Rogers, and its a distinction few people understand when they are doing these standard, basic, silly GOAT debates. Of course Rogers is more physically talented than Brady. Of course he can make a bullet, pinpoint no look pass. Of course he can run, avoid contact and throw a frozen rope. But when it comes down to being quarterback, physical talent is only part of it. Greatness is about consistency, execution under pressure and leadership. This interview and the things he says about Brady is WHY he is the GOAT. Not just his accomplishments (which are significant)
@dawer457
@dawer457 6 років тому
Nicardo Neil being accomplished is actually not a bad thing man.. Players and teams play to win. So being a better winner is more valuable than being more talented. Brady does whatever is necessary to win. I respect that
@NicardoNeil
@NicardoNeil 6 років тому
I am actually not in disagreement. I think Brady is the GOAT. I just think people like to use his accomplishments as somehow an excuse ("he's the most accomplished but not the greatest"). My argument here is that he didn't just walk onto the field and accomplish things. And its not just the Patriot's system (the other common silly argument). He has been more consistently great, has executed more under pressure and has been a better leader than any other QB in history.
@waffles5433
@waffles5433 6 років тому
Nicardo Neil back in the day, “most accomplished” meant greatest. People just look for excuses because they don’t wanna admit Brady is the goat. Before Brady won his 4th Super Bowl, the main argument people used was “Montana has 4.”
@beastmode218
@beastmode218 6 років тому
Why Brady is better than Rodgers? Simple answer.... Brady's unparalleled Leadership, Work ethic, and humble nature to the Team. Brady's leadership is undervalued and underrated. He legit learns about ALL the players on the team not just the offense and starters. He learns about the Scout team, defensive players even the newcomers that are UDFA. There have been countless stories about rookies and young guys coming in that this iconic legend actually talks to them and address them by first name basis. Wanting to actually know about them. Even would trash talk them on the practice field for good fun. Bill might be the cold presence but Brady isn't. Reason why the team gives 100% effort and make occasional plays when needed. Its Do Your Job mantra with a humble atmosphere.
@BlackEgypt

Nicardo Neil Tom Brady has had a TOP 10 DEFENSE EVERY time they've WON a SUPERBOWL just like EVERY team that has WON a superbowl last time I checked Aaron had a Top 10 defense he WON a superbowl and BOTH Brady and Rodgers are sitting on the sidelines when the defense is on the field.and Aaron doesn't have BILL BELICHICK.

Pure talent - Throwing, moving, reading the defenses/adjustments (Brady does this well too). What you want from a typical QB, all the qualities are in Aaron Rodgers. I am upset that things didn't work out in GB for Bennett, but that's history. Most accomplished - Stats, rings, etc. This is Brady no doubt (Of course he's great at reading defenses as well and adjustments)
@artmessiah83
@artmessiah83 6 років тому
Jimmy Her Nobody reads defenses like Tom Brady. That's the biggest difference between the 2. Rodgers has a high IQ but he's best at creating on the fly. Brady's prep work is half the battle. Knowing what defense he's facing and they're tendencies. Spot the weakest. Tom usually has you beat before he snaps the ball.

There's some truth to that statement but it's a No-Brainer that Bill is far and away a better coach than McCarthy was.

Arm talent Rodgers is ahead of Brady but Pre snap, Brady is miles ahead of Rodgers. Not close. There's a reason Rodgers always has to improvise, it's cuz he doesn't read the defenses well, change protections or plays. Brady does this almost every play.

BobbyMarley I still don't know why people even try to compare rogers to Brady. Not even close. Brady wins all the time and the Superbowls, but rogers is just like any other QB in the league. He'll win some flashy games, but chokes the big ones. Not even close...

For all of you saying Brady always had better teams than Rogers; Brady MADE those teams better. Leadership is considered a nice quality for a QB to have. It isn't. It's a quality a QB HAS to have. Nobody gets more out of his team mates than Tom Brady. That's why he's the best.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. The level of excellence Tom Brady brings effects the whole team. Do you think the defense wants to get humiliated every day? Or do you think they raise their level to match?
@seanwall2846

thanksfernuthin that's why they're 14-6 without him and packers without Rodgers has a losing record
@thanksfernuthin

That's where leadership comes in, Sean. If Rodgers isn't there they fall apart. If Brady isn't, the team plays at the level he set them at.

thanksfernuthin god you're dumb both of them are still on the sideline even during bradys 4 game suspension guess what he wasn't even allowed at the field to practice so they went 3-1 without his presence with a 2nd and 3rd string qb

Aaron Rodgers by far has the most talent, but Tom Brady maximizes his own talent and the talent of his whole team. I'm sorry to Aaron Rodgers, but Brady is the goat 🐐

Thomars Carter Then look at what you would gain from the 10 mill offer. Your argument is invalid and makes no sense apart from showing your a pats fanboy. Trust me, you don’t want a pay cut.
