New fan art has reimagined the Marvel Zombies episode of Marvel's What if..? with the live-action MCU cast. What If..? streams exclusively on Disney+ and is the first-ever fully animated project within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show gives fans a glimpse of the multiversal consequences of a single act, by turning the tables on classic MCU stories. Each week, audiences are shown these alternate realities that run concurrently with the events of the original Marvel films, but each one with a unique twist.
The most recent episode, simply titled "What if... Zombies?!" saw the Earth's mightiest heroes tackle a zombie outbreak, an event that was triggered following Hank Pym's attempt to rescue his wife, Janet van Dyne, from within the quantum realm. While stuck there, van Dyne had become infected with a quantum virus that had corrupted her brain, which was then brought out of the quantum realm and began to spread amongst humans exponentially, taking the Avengers down with it. The episode saw Spider-Man team up with Hope van Dyne, Bruce Banner, Bucky Barnes and Okoye in an attempt to stop the outbreak, and save humanity.
