Berettini is an absolute gladiator. He’s more than just a serve and a forehand. He has impeccable footwork, moves well for his size, has a sublime backhand slice, clinical volleys and a deadly drop shot. Well deserved- big time players deserve big time results

from these highlights, I've been also impressed by the frequency and the precision of his backhand slice. He was often blamed for having a weak backhand, but played with this style, on clay or on grass, it will deliver.

The quality of his touch is what impressed me most watching him live . The serve ofc is scary but the touch him and stan make it look so easy top tier talent you can see the difference with latin claycourt specialists who play a more stereotypical tennis lacking creativity

Boy am I glad he's back.. what a monster of a player he is! That was an absolute nightmare match for Carballes-Baena... I feel for him, because the other guy was just unstoppable. Berretini's forehand is simply one of the scariest in the world... he can generate such ridiculous racket head speed, and he can do it from nowhere and with nothing - incredible power, but outrageous topsin too... that inside-in forehand is just out of this world, seeing him hit it I expect the ball to hit the middle of the net or the back fence but he finds the space it almost looks like a high percentage shot too. Incredible time for Italian tennis

So happy to have Berretini back. I love his game. Huge forehand and serve backed up with great court craft, slice and the lethal drop shot he is known for. I hope he will contend for the slams again. That’s where he deserves to be.

matteo seems to have added a few extra tools in his skillset... a lot more slice to cover the weak backhand, a shit ton of drop shots and coming up to the net more frequently... i like this!

Was wondering what happened to him, didn't realize injuries derailed his career; he was a player I had for the very top of the sport(as in World No.1), being the last player in memory to beat Roger Federer in a Major. Congrats to him though, and may this be a sign of things to come.

Shedding some more pounds and Matteo will be back in his tip-top form. From there on, it's all about keeping himself healthy and strategically competitive I honestly don't see Slams in the next 2-3 years for him, but he will be a competitive force anyway since his full-court play plus that serve really can come in handy in any surfaces

RCB needed to not push his BH's through the middle. Giving Matteo time on that hammer FH was setting himself up for failure, his BH's needed to be directed at a hard angle to tini's backhand instead.
