While I agree he had enough space, on the video the lens built to have more fov for onboards, considerably distorts the sides of the image, making it look it gave him more room than it actually was.

The collision was just unfortunate that Max closed the door thinking Lewis would back out and stay behind him. The reason Lewis attempted this pass on the inside is because Max kept using the inside line in the Sprint race and Lewis was having no success so in Sunday main race he attempted this but Max didn't wanna give space to Lewis because he would have overtaken Max going into Maggets and Becketts

During the turn, Max opens up so that his trajectory has more initial amplitude to be able to take the lead, but Lewis slows down late. Max thought Lewis would leave space, but he didn't, causing the accident. The fact is that Max made a mistake in underestimating Hamilton, who also made a mistake in entering a curve with little initial amplitude too quickly. @@isacjoel8706 I think that it’s wrong to say that the touch changed Lewis’s trajectory. It’s not clear that he carried to much speed in beginning but around the middle of the turn its clear. That is also when the contact happened so its wrong to say that that is the cause. If you look at Leclerc’s onboard it’s even more clearly shown. It was Hamiltons mistake that he carried too much speed and he was penalized for it.

Look at Lewis overtake on Charles. Charles gave Lewis space. Max didn’t. Heading to Copse, he was at the center of the track with Lewis behind him then alongside. Max being that he was at the center, didn’t go all the way to his left. Just a tiny adjustment to the left then into Lewis. If he’d have stuck to his left without defending that aggressively, Lewis would have nipped him as he did Charles
