Max will commit to his RB contract until 2028. Until then he will stay in RB if the team can still giving him the best car set up that he requires.

People thinking that Mercedes will again have the killer engine are dreaming. Because output will be restricted on both the internal combustion side _and_ the electric side, no team will have a horsepower advantage. Both the ICE and the electrical output will be throttled by max energy flow restrictions. Active aero on the front and back will be the key. The fact that Red Bull was the first team to point out downforce issues with the basic "Fangio" model should be a heads-up that they are _ahead_ of the field, not trailing it. Toto Wolff laughed it off initially, saying he thought it was evidence they were behind in their PU development. He _should_ have been asking his aero engineers "what did Red Bull know that they didn't, and why"....

Mercedes built the best hybrid engine, because the FIA adopted the design that Mercedes had been working on for nearly 10 years, and spent over 1Billion developing. The new Power Unit regulations in 2026 will not be a repeat of 2014, for any of the teams. The internal combustion engine half will be a detuned version of the existing tech, restricted by maximum energy flow per lap. The electric side will be an increased version of the existing tech, also max energy flow restricted. Aero will be where advantages will be found. And maybe batteries.

Another dumb decision by merc. I bet that Russel won't be slower than 0.1sec than Max. It doesn't matter how good a driver is he can't win in a bad car. Car > driver.

Aramco probably will buy Max and Stroll stake to enhance Aston. Honda will be the main attraction for Max! A reliable top performing engine. Why taking a huge risk with the unproven RB-Ford combination. Mercedes hasn't shown progress so far and Ferrari is now with Hamilton closed for Max.
