Caramel being 2:47 pace, and then dying to the level 12 spikes three times in a row, was such a slap in the face. It looked brutal enough watching this video, I can't imagine what it must've been like to actually experience it.

There's an epidemic of "Speedrun World Record History" videos that are almost exclusively about who the runners were and what the times were, which is an egregious missed opportunity. This kind of video that shows what their successes and failures were, the narratives and walls, community goals, etc- We need more like this.

As a fellow speedrunner, this was another well documented story. Never played redball, but I can feel the pain of the spike RNG caramel must have felt. My main speedrunning game lasts about 1 hour with the last levels being RNG when it comes to timeloss since it depends on enemy spawns and objectives. Which can be hassle. Losing time by something that is out of your control can really be taxing especially in late game. Even though redball is a short speedrun in itself, all the perfects tricks you need to pull off to just be even on pace can be as taxing as playing a longer game. Here it comes down to frames to even get a PB. Never have played redball before, but I could feel each runners' victory and choke in this vid. Stress can be huge when going for record or PB pace and you clearly visualised this in the story telling. When it comes to redball, you're the summoningsalt for this franchise imo :D always a fun watch to see a new vid of yours. Very well explained, sprinkled with a bit of humor here and there, and when it comes to explaining difficult or technical stuff, the visuals really help to understand your explanation. Can't even imagine how long it takes to document everything, grab footage and come up with visuals just to tell an intriguing story when it comes to the niche sport of speedrunning :D

I only recently found your older videos of this, loved them, and was instantly upset that there hadn't been any updates for almost 3 years. Was super excited to see this pop up, and am stoked to see the "finale."

I'm consistently shocked by how the best speedrun history channel on UKposts covers red ball and other Flash games. I never thought the janky platformers I would sneakily play in class or late at night as a kid could be so interesting, but the movement is actually crazy. Every time a new red ball video comes out, I get tempted to re-watch the old ones. Dunno why I wasn't subbed until now

I do think it’s cool when the person making the speedrunning history video is in the video themselves or that their video directly inspired some sort of advancement of strategies. An example sould be SummoningSalt being in his video on Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out or how Bismuth’s series on min-A presses in SM64 inspired the community to try and lower it as he was making his series. So, I hope you don’t hang up your hat for good with speedrunning Red Ball!

This video excited me so much that I legitimately was unable to click the video for a few days XD I first got into the game about a year ago, and I kinda was just. Out of date. And this intro is TOO EXCITING PLS MAX I CAN'T HANDLE IT. Seriously though. The return to the 3:07, even as someone who wasn't around when it happened, was still too much XD And seeing you bring up the IL side? Like. COME ON! The best part is that I had kinda caught myself up, so hearing you mention stuff like the *INSANE* IL SoB, and even show Starline getting *SUB 11 TRAIN* is just. TOO EXCITING. Of every video that could be made EVER, this is probably #2 for the most exciting one. (Only behind getting a Sequel to my fav video ever). I legit don't even think a theoretical Odyssey 2 announcement trailer would have this beat XD The craziest part is that even after writing all this, there is still just. More to how excited I am.
