@todydn MGK's songs especially ones off Hotels Diablo speak on topics and feelings I relate to heavily. Just like Merkules and Jelly Roll. Probably on the sadder more painful side of things but with my childhood and the stuff I grew up around and the people were very similar to MGK in many aspects. Especially when he speaks on his struggles with addiction and that his daughter is his reason for fighting and going on day after day. I struggle with my vices and substance abuse as well and it's a constant fight to be sober. And like him my 7yr daughter is the only reason I do fight and work so hard. She's my soul purpose and reason for living. Making sure she's loved and taken care of and has a dad in her life is what gives me meaning 💯 And Yella is a very unique artist as he can do all sorts of styles! He has deep impactful songs talking about his struggles and the darkness in his life. But he also is able to crank out party vibes, country music, trap rap, rock and roll you name it. Dudes hella diverse. I didn't meant soul as in "soulful" like Jazz or anything just that for me personally the songs and topics/lyrics are what I relate too deep in my own soul personally ya know? All in all I've had a very painful existence lmao so it's these artists I relate with the most for better or worse thier music helps me 💯

@@chaoticchaos894 yeah i get tjat ive struggled with alot of demons too i guess i just dont put jelly or dax especialy nf into a category with yella or mgk i know yella put jelly on early in his career along with struggle and i like yella and alot of mgks old stuf so this isnt a diss but jelly dax and nf are often spiritual blantantly so theres a redemtiin in them i dont real feel from mgk and yella

@todydn I totally understand where your coming from. When it comes to MGK I'm a fan of his older stuff as well outside Hotel Diablo. It's just good that you jam all the artists I threw out there cause all of them are absolutely fire and killing the game right now! Dax and NF especially. You could probably throw Joyner Lucas in the mix as well. And Chris Webby, Vin Jay, Ekoh, And Jarren Benton if were talking underrated artists. These are the artists who truly should be dominating the radio waves. Instead of so many others smh. I honestly see Merk as a Canadian version of Jelly Roll lmao. There styles are similar and thier attitudes/lyrics. I remember Merkules saying something about doing a full collaborative album with Jelly and that would absolutely KILL at the moment seeing as Jelly been riding the lighting of success. Enough so he was on Joe Rogan and since Rogan been jamming his songs to other comedians he has on! Which is a massive shout out for someone like Jelly.
