The Beauty of a trap like this, you can use your own mice/rats over and over to make it appear to trap wild rodents. These have been trapped over and over again but viewers love it, so it works as an excellent TRAP indeed. Brilliant on your part for sure.

Τhe most amazing thing in this video is not the trap itself but the shocking number of mice-rats carefree roaming in that place !!

The convenience of having a bunch of mice just turn up while filming in the middle of the day is incredible.

This is like the best metaphor for human society. First it kind of seems like a good idea so a few risk something without knowing possible negative outcomes. Once there is one person doing it, more will follow as we tend to believe the one(s) already doing it must know what they’re doing. And the more people follow the less others will think twice, and jump in something just because everyone else is doing it. We watch this thinking they must be stupid. But we kinda work in a very similar way.

I love it. The trap allows the mice to live so you can safely relocate them to your neighbor's if you felt so inclined

The first 5 were thinking: "Hey, there's food down there." Every mouse after that was more like: "Hey, there's a party down there."

This reminded me that for we HUMANS it's not always the best idea to do something just because "everybody else is doing it".

I'm assuming those aren't wild mice and were released into the room to demonstrate the trap. No way there's just a horde of mice free roaming that building.

Genius in my book. I love the fact that the bucket itself was high enough so they could not even try to get back out - it's also great that there were not more of them or the top would have heaved enough for them to try to escape.

Brilliant and so cheap and reusable. Every farmer could easily have hundreds of these buckets made up to capture these creatures and how they even jump in themselves, awesome.

In the 60’s I started work as an apprentice motor mechanic in what was an old mill and when we left at night we put a broom handle at an angle to a dustbin and put scraps of food in the empty bin. In the morning we saw at least 75-125 mice in the bottom of the bin. Now that’s a mouse trap and it didn’t touch the surface to the quality of mice in the building.

I had made a similar trap. After all the little critters joined the party. I soaked a paper towel with starting fluid (Ether) which was used to anesthetize soldiers during the civil war. I dropped the towel into the bucket. Then put the lid on. All the mice fell asleep and were asleep when the air ran out. A more humane way then drowning.
