Miami Beach Police arrested a 53-year-old man in connection to the beating death of a transgender woman near the Miami City Ballet. Her stepfather speaks out on how the family is devastated and how he feared this could happen. WTVJ's Chris Hush reports.

The transgender might’ve been a prostitute because I have seen prostitutes in Miami Beach in the past somewhere and somewhere real females. I don’t think the transgender was Cuban as some people would say without knowing.

Sleeping on the streets? This person was clearly HOMELESS...why not say that? Based on the details by the father, this was a homeless person, but, they are not saying that...why not? People who have somewhere to sleep do not sleep on the streets. The coverage here trying to make it seem like some random person was killed because of their lifestyle choice, when clearly, there might be more involved.

Yea, Florida does like to accurately enforce the law and not trump up charges just to make the left feel warm and fuzzy. If this was NY or Cali, the DA would dismiss the case against the defendant on the account of his skin color. I'm sure someone will cry "that's racism", and I agree, but then say it to the DAs who make prosecution decisions based on race.

On top of that, trans people have been leaving Florida for the past few years. 32 people is a high number relative to the total population of trans people in Florida.
