The bigger problem with the Green Energy movement is that it has distracted us from dealing with real environmental concerns that don't require destroying capitalism in the process. Problems like cleaning up the ocean, remediating the drought in California, upgrading municipal sewer systems, reducing our use of non-biodegradable plastics, and getting lead of our municipal water supplies. All of these could have been fixed for a fraction of what was uselessly spent on Green Energy incentives to funnel money to political cronies.

The only green in green energy is the money that's coming from people's pockets convincing them that there actually are free lunches

It’s the same thing for the pharmaceuticals industry. Wherever they smelled money or the opportunity of money, come the lies and the taxes! 🙄

It was amusing when Electric Car activists were glowing over energy savings and then were told that to manufacture the batteries to power the cars the Chinese were using coal-fired plants and in the end the carbon footprint was LARGER for the production of EC vehicles than combustion-engine vehicles for the first 10 years of operation!

This reminds me of the whole recycling phenomenon. It sounds great until you look at the unintended effects of doing it. We need access to quality products that last, vs throw away items from China.

I first saw a failed wind farm in 1983 when I travelled around California. Our guide told us that it was to be removed however it was going to be very expensive and nobody was putting their hand up to do the job.

I was always taught in geology classes that we are almost out of fossil fuels and that’s why we have to switch to solar and turbines. I'm glad to see a few media people speaking out on this! I'm particularly happy to see Mr. Moore doing this Doco on it too!! I live and work in the Canadian "Oil Patch" and everything said in this report about "Renewables" is absolutely TRUE! I've seen mostly wind turbines in my area and it isn't just about the carbon footprint they leave, it's also very damaging to migratory birds! That alone upsets the balance of nature never mind the constant bombardment of those oscillating blades!!

Something I learned in this movie, when you run on solar/wind you have to have coal or natural gas running on standby to compensate for any shortages or else you will be without power when clouds roll in or the wind dies.

The ABC are yet to show or even talk about this film.

I forget how long ago, but a pen-pal in Australia sent me a photo. I was confused until He explained. In the middle of the photo was small yellow object . THAT OBJECT was a bulldozer surrounded by WIND TURBINE BLADES. The Turbine Blades HAD to be BURIED because there was NO easy WAY to recycle them. Solar Panels lose efficiency while they are trying to produce power. At some point in time, "diminishing returns" will occur and the panels will HAVE to be replaced. What MIGHT have cost a home owner $20 K will now cost $40 K. Is THAT what a responsible person WANTS?

Finally they are being exposed. Thank you Michael Moore. I pray your message is heard.

I'm not entirely opposed to wind or solar power, but the near religious worship of them by eco-warriors is ridiculous.

Why on earth would we have to bury the components in the desert when they are made of recyclable materials?

The French have been way ahead for decades. They generate up to 85% of their energy by safe clean nuclear energy, no accidents.

I've been saying this for years, there is no such thing as "renewable" Recycling? waste of time and money. Here is the thing folks. Back in the day we didn't need plastic because we had glass. Glass for milk, soda, even peanut butter. We took our milk and soda bottles in for return and cleaning to be reused, the jars became storage for all that loose hardware or got reused when canning as well. Yes, I remember those days. It is very unfortunate that in todays world the need for quick and easy has replaced a time tested and proven system.

I was an electrical engineer for over forty years. I have primarily worked on the design and construction of power plants. Several nuclear, natural gas, coal, solar, and wind plants. There is no solar or wind technologies today that can replace the existing power plants. It's a lie. It's marketing BS.

I used to work for a company that did remote IT support, and one of those companies was a renewable energy supplier, I remember a conversation with one of their engineers, and when I remarked about cheaper electricity prices, he said nope the wind turbines are more expensive way to make electric and they are running at a loss as they keep breaking down and the cost of maintaining them is more than the revenue they can bring in and more expensive than traditional means of power this was about 6-7 years ago

Back in the 2000's, I drove through Tehachapi Pass in California and saw hundreds of wind turbines sitting idle, a considerable number missing one or more fan blades and clearly in a derelict state. Wind energy has high startup and maintenance costs.

It's the same thing with electric cars....you have to plug them in, and it costs more to make the power to charge these cars via coal burning energy plants, and it makes more pollution to charge them and to mine the minerals to make the batteries as well as the cost to recycle or get rid of the batteries in them when they fail than it does to just produce and burn gasoline and diesel.

I was approached by a solar company. They gave me a proposal for my house. It went like: "... the following trees would cast a shadow on the panels, therefore we shall put those down..." I never contracted.

I work for a company who take the concrete upto the bases for windmills and those windmills have backup generators nearby for when they aren't working which is ALOT!

I live in Texas. Every now and then I watch as a well gets tapped and then starts to produce oil. Next to pump is a "burn off" pit. This burns off methane which is everywhere. A usable fuel which isn't used. I'm sure the cost to sell methane in a renewable form of fuel is quite possible.

The giant solar & wind plants are ridiculous!!! Each home needs to have their own wind & solar systems with battery banks to store the energy. I've been off grid over 20 yrs with the same system & it's still producing just fine 🥰

Texas is finding this out the hard way

The discussion in this video has a lot of excellent points. Many years ago, I wondered why banks and investment companies supported politicians who were leftists. It just didn't make sense to me. Another thing that did not make sense was that after some time, these "green energy" projects were just abandoned, and then people in the media would talk about how they are reclaiming the land and "recycling" the materials of whatever was there. The wind turbines are often not replaced, but just demolished when they are no longer working. It all has to do with money. The government subsidies run out, as do the tax incentives, and the project no longer is profitable. The windmills and solar panels were not put in the wrong place, the subsidies just ran out. The banks support leftists because these are the people on the green bandwagon.

Took a class to get licensed in PV (solar) panel sales. Learned that the panels AND roof need replacing every 10 years. 🤦‍♀️

This is a political rather than a practical presentation. I live in South Africa where we have frequent power cuts. I recently installed Solar panels a battery and an inverter in my house. It had nothing to do with “being green” but a purely practical solution to frequent power cuts. Of course a cheaper solution would have been to buy a noisy diesel generator. My system is such that I do not even know if there is a power cut. It automatically draws stored power from the battery if the panels are not supplying enough power or not supplying power at all like it happens at night. I stand to be corrected but I believe generators have to be manually started in the case of power cuts. By the time that happens your microwave and TV have switched off and need to restart. As I said the solar solution to an unreliable grid is more expensive but more convenient. Renewable Energy may not be as “green” as it purports to be but it certainly IS RENEWABLE. To complain about having to replace wind turbines every 20 years as well as replacing solar panels and batteries maybe every 10 years or so is not on par with filling gas and shovelling coal into a gas or coal generator everyday or at least once a week. Let us compare apples with apples. Of course if you are too poor to buy solar panels for your home to offset load shedding you buy a noisy diesel generator. THAT is your problem.
