​@@brianbosch3628 that's a fair point. It's possible this new game allows them to add features which weren't possible on the old one, though. They'll probably continue to support the old one either way. But for all we know this game could be focused completely on missions and could forego the open world aspect of MSFS 2020, which would separate the two games. I don't know they could manage seasons and such high-detail maps, AND the full open world.

@@doug12244 Yeah, that's plausible. But if it focuses on missions only, then they'd be able to create far more detailed maps for these missions and wouldn't be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the earth.

The game replicates the entire Earth. It would be impossible to realistically model the whole thing. It will be the same as 2020 with satellite photo data making up most of the game.

I don't think it's a sustainable business model to work for free. If msfs loses money it will be discontinued by Microsoft as it has in the past. I prefer pay 50 dollars every 4 years.

Haha, tell EA to send free copies of FIFA to players who own the previous year version.. i mean, they release one EVERY YEAR, for full price + ingame purchases. Microsoft at least doesn't release MSFS every year and they actually improve the game alot each time.
