I'm a bit older than you. I like Miley but she doesn't hold a candle to Madonna's version of Like a Prayer on her Blond Ambition World Tour, especially her last show in Nice France. I watched it live on HBO and recorded it on VHS. Pioneer released it on LaserDisc and held (or still do) the rights to it. I have been wanting to buy the DVD and/or BluRay for years. There are DVD's of that concert for sale online but I'm not sure if they are real or not. One of the reasons she rocks covers is that she's been thru shit & came out realizing she Loves to sing. You can hear it in these covers she is now doing. Which "genre" ? A genre is a STYLE of music. Miley doesn't break any mold here, staying extremely true to the original. I'm sure she COULD switch it to rock or funk (hip-hop would be a bit tricky) or opera ( being the vocal wizard that she is) , but in this version, she stays true to pop, to Madonna.
