I agree, but the Ukrainians have also made it clear that the offer doesn't extend to the members of the Russian artillery and rocket forces. They have said due to their actions of shelling civilians, they will not accept their surrender, but will execute them as war criminals. Remember, it is only a war crime if you shoot a prisoner of war. If your enemy is unarmed, waving a white flag and putting their hands in the air (clearly trying to surrender) you can still legally kill them under the rules of war as long as you do not accept their surrender.

After a certain point it becomes impossible to hide how poorly the Russians are doing. People simply aren't returning to Russia. The government keeps needing more and more regular people to be drafted for this NOT a war. There's really no longer a way for Russia to win anymore. Ukraine is losing a lot also, but Russia is being torn to shreds. The Ukrainians really haven't even tried invading Russia yet, but it's still early on. Once Russia's offensive force is gone, they're on defense only.

I think early on the Ukrainians were supposedly offering 1M somethings (value near USD 40K or 100K?) or so for russian soldiers who surrendered and said "One Million!" . . . sounds like they could drop the offer to fifty bucks and a pack of bubble gum ? B-)

Ukraine is doing something similar for anyone that turns over Russian equipment. Paying them up to a half a million an allowing Ukrainian citizenship. If a NATO country made a blanket offer for just the regular soldiers I think Putin would flip but he already is so 🤷🏼‍♀️ these soldiers that don’t want to die need to figure something out soon before another country decides to step in for Ukraine an wipes the Russians out.

The million offer was to Russian pilots that surrender with their aircraft. Quite a bargain all in all. I believe 10,000 was offered to anyone surrendering with a tank.
