The only freedom there is in the EU is freedom... from freedom... The politicians rob the Germans... Noone cares what German voters say... Just look at DB? In 2022 or so it was last in punctuality rating and its CEO gave himself bonuses 1.2 mln euro for ecology and women in high ranked jobs, over 2 mln euro with a salary... Ich glaube ebenfalls das durch die schlagartig geänderte Situation im Osten die Bundeswehr inzwischen deutlich größeres Ansehen genießt. Jetzt muss nur noch die Truppe auf Vordermann gebracht werden was die Ausrüstung angeht

Ich war früher, als ich noch jung war, Reserveoffizier im Heeresfliegerregiment 10 in Faßberg. Heute Transporthubschrauberregiment 10. Damals (1990) waren wir Korpstruppen. Heute untersteht das Regiment der Division schnelle Kräfte. Ich war immer stolz Heeresflieger zu sein und freue mich besonders, daß wir die baltischen Staaten unterstützen in der Sicherung der NATO Ostgrenze. Wir machen endlich mal was Sinnvolles (im Gegensatz zu Afghanistan). Liebe Balten, Ihr könnt euch auf uns verlassen ! Ich bin voll von der Mission überzeugt.

Why was there no UK flag? We are in NATO and in Lithuania? The eFP (Enhanced Forward Presence) in the Baltic States is a deployment of robust, multinational, combat-ready forces to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, on a persistent, rotational basis. About 900 British personnel rotate on a continuous basis alongside Danish, French, and host nation Estonian forces.

I do not believe that NATO's strength and operational readiness is as bad as it is often portrayed, even by experts. Sure no European NATO country has ammunition stored for years of war but it's definitely enough to stop the Russians.

I wonder why Lithuanian Army bought so many German vehicles and guns? Was not better to buy M109 Palladin howitzers instead more costly PZH2000? German Boxers also are more costly, than other NATO APC vehicles e.g. Pandour, Patria, Piranha, Rosomak, Stryker. I find M109 SPAG are cheaper to buy and got smaller upkeep costs. These howitzers are good enough on battlefields. They are less costly in maintenance, services and spare parts. Latvia also has M109 SPAG, so it would be easier to cooperate in the field with neighboring Latvia. Similar case when eventually buy Finnish Patria or Polish Rosmak used in neighboring Latvian and Polish Armies, instead buy much costly German Boxers with much bigger upkeep costs and spare parts. Lithuania with the same money could buy and upkeep more cheaper vehicles and guns. Then Lithuanian Army could get more weapons, arm more soldiers, spend less upkeep costs and spare parts, and better cooperate with ally neighboring armies.

I think, it is important straining factor availability for local and visiting personnel and NATO’s military presence by Germany as framework nation factor. P.S. I have nothing related to military, so my opinion, just personal.

@@prancishkus1194 Hmm do you really think, one German improvised battalion as framework nation in NATO EFP in Lithuania is more helpful than better armed Lithuanian forces and better cooperation with closest neighboring allies? Lithuanian Army with the same money could buy more weapons and arm more soldiers with cheaper equipment, isn't it. German weapons and vehicles are very expensive, generate bigger upkeep costs and needs costly spare parts. I am afraid these issues can drain Lithuanian MoD budget and weaken Lithuanian defense.

@@Aski2 I think there is no "cheap and good" or "cost effective" when you pay less and get more. I am not related with military or politics, so I do now know any details about that contracts and for me PzH is just "a big howitzer", or why such equipment is purchased, probably it was price, maintenance, warranty, logistics, delivery time ratio. Anyway German quality is good and I do not see reason why to try to save here.

@@prancishkus1194 I think there are available cheap and good enough, and cost effective weapons. I gave earlier some examples in this matter. I find vehicles prices, spare parts, logistic, maintenance and other costs, and deliveries time for M109, K9, Krab SPAGs would be better than for PzH. There are more issues. For instance PzH 2000 is much heavier than M109, K9, Krab SPAGs. So, PzH can make more troubles in maneuverability. This heavy SPAG require special vehicles to support transportation in long range. Heavier PzH vehicles can spoil roads and there are not many big bridges in Lithuania which can withstand rolling heavy weight. So, Lithuanian Army needs more heavy lifts, special joint assault bridging systems, and heavy armored recovery vehicles. All theses heavy gears are very expensive. Heavy vehicles are costly in maintenance, services and spear parts. They require skilled servicemen and heavier logistics. So, Lithuania Army will in addition spend more money. Can you see now, how costs can arose, when you buy expensive heavy vehicles?

Нытью по поводу российских парадов было каждый раз на протяжении постсоветского периода. Сейчас Россия просто начала действовать как любое капиталистическое государство, имеющее свои экономические и политические интересы за пределами своих государственных границ. Всего лишь. Что тебе здесь непонятно? Не нравится капитализм? Не нравится быть не на вершине пищевой пирамиды?) На Литву в частности никто не нападал, хотя и литовские лидеры в частности и прибалтийские в целом вопят так, как-будто на них уже напали и уже всех загнали в ГУЛАГ... И это вполне понятно, все карлики наперебой рвутся полизать задницу Штатам... Лижут до волдырей на языке...
