Made another homemade milling attachment for a lathe. With it, you can perform drilling and milling with small diameters of drills and cutters, grinding and marking. Direct drive from the motor, as is sometimes done, does not give as stiffness as such a large spindle.
A robust housing and spindle are made on angular contact bearings. The engine is installed from a screwdriver model 775. The engine is very efficient, has a shaft on bearings, graphite brushes and a good cooling system. In the video, the body is sealed with vinyl film (Oracal), this is to protect it from chips and metal dust, long-term work is not planned. I also note that on tests at start, this motor consumes much less current than the weaker 540 motor.
