This rusty vise was a real challenge! I disassembled it with hammers, after that i restored all of the metal parts and gave them a nice new painting. I also made a new handle on the lathe! After reassembling this vise works perfectly fine again!

Thanks a lot! Yeah it’s pretty smart and easy to handle! But it’s not the best for bigger parts, as the operating dimensions are limited. Thanks! ❤️

Simply a genius. I love when somebody could take the high-quality items of yesterday that have been extremely neglected and refurbish them to store quality condition they deserve it and it takes a certain type of person to do this.

I really enjoyed what you done with the slit screw in the back of the handle. The result was mind blowing! Also, WD-40 is not really that effective to lose rust bolts (better than nothing, for sure). I learned that acetone and automatic transmission oil make an excellent penetrating fluid. I also recommend that you apply it 24 prior, this allow the solution to penetrate (thanks to the low viscosity of automatic oil) and corrode the rust (thanks to acetone).
