It's rare that I like romantic relationships in fiction, but dammit do the Enemies to Lovers and "No one gets to kill you but me" tropes REALLY hit my niche right in the bullseye

I really love that little parallel between Mizu and Taigen wrestling vs Mizu and Mikkio (her late husband) sparring, you can tell that those friendly matches are Mizu's way of courtship and unlike Mikkio who felt threaten by his wife being physically stronger than him, Taigen is clearly attracted to the idea of Mizu being better than him even if he doesn't want to admit it, it really shows that they are made for each other and I really hope they are endgame because Mizu deserves someone who can love her for who she is

Blue eye samurai is such a masterpiece

I really love the second time they wrestled and Taigen had his little oopsies moment, since it showed that he himself has grown feelings that his body can't deny. It's an attraction born from seeing Mizu throughout the journey and growing out of the prejudice he held against her as a child, and it's a culmination of him truly knowing her for both her charm (steadfast, skillful and decidedly beautiful) and her flaws (her short fuse, cold temper, her lack of honor befitting the traditional samurai). He's definitely one of the most important catalyst for Mizu to finally forge herself into the perfect blade, balanced and appreciated for who she is.

The thing I like about it is that they actually were enemies. So many enemies to lovers tropes skip the enemies part and just pretend for a bit but nobody actually believes it.

Literally when I first saw (adult) Taigen, the amount of Zuko-coded vibes in was getting off this man were off the charts 😂

I loved that scene where Mizo pins him down and straddles him sm because it paralleled the one with her ex-husband perfectly! But while her ex felt emasculated and threatened by her skills and romantic/sexual dominance, Taigen got aroused and didn't flip out even in that embarrassing situation with whom he perceives to be another man (and his enemy!)! Glorious! Loved it and I shipped it from that moment on.

Enemies to lovers can be one of the best love stories.

They give off so much Mulan/Shang and Zuko/Katara vibes 🥹🥰😭 the child in me is so happy right now!! always love an enemies to allies to friends to hopefully lovers trope 🫶🏼

This show really captivated me, I’m always nit picking shows and wishing they were better some how, but this show really blew me away. I love the protagonist, she’s everything I want to be, fierce and ferocious. She’s got a ton of flaws and but she’s unapologetic and fearless.

Mikio rejected Mizu as a 'devil' after he found out about her swordsmanship skills, so it was a nice contrast to have someone that has learned to truly appreciate her strengths. Mizu and Taigen are truly great foils for each other. I usually don't enjoy shipping characters together in serious shows like this, but this show did it so well that I honestly didn't see it coming... but once it happened, it made perfect sense. It feels natural.

Theres always that pinned down scene where the tension rises tenfold. Always that brief glance at each others lips before their eyes. And the sudden shy away and awkwardness after. Ugh, i love those scenes.

It was giving Shang/Mulan vibes 😂 Except Mizu is far superior with a sword.

He doesn't know he is a she, no one does except her servant. Great series can't wait for part two.

I absolutely adore Mizu, she reminds me so much of Neytiri. She is raw, feral, fearless, smart, strong and unapologetic.

Rather than a mere expression of affection, it's a profound connection of human souls, delving into the comprehension of thoughts. Mizu may not possess the same external charm as Teigen's princess, yet her soul and character exude an inspiration so profound and profound that it transcends mere physical beauty, making it more captivating than appearance alone.
