I doubt this conflict will turn into a global conflict. It might. But its very unlikely.

What kind of schools are you talking about? American schools? Russian schools? In Austrian and German schools WW1 and WW2 often get taught. It's supposed to remind the modern people not to make the same mistakes again and remind (for example) Germany and Austria about it's dark past.
