His family only bought their first house when luka landed a 10 year contract. What he has accomplished for his family, croatia, fans all around the world is nothing short of a miracle. Not only is he one of the best midfielders (if not the best), he demonstrates humility, integrity and leadership, leading Croatia (a wartorn nation with only 4 million people) into a world cup final and semi-final. He may never top ronaldo or messi, but he will forever win my heart as one of the true greats in football.
