You're all invited to come stay with us now! We were thrilled to find this dinette design online and so happy it worked for our space. It gives us all the flexibility we need to function as our expandable dining area, living room, and guest room all in one.
We modeled our dinette based on a design by RomeuRei on Instagram - We probably watched his pinned Kitchen story 1000x throughout the process! He has a pretty cool build, check out his page here: romeurei?h...

Im sure you ate tired of getting this question but … do you have dimensions for the couch cuts ? Im a bit confused how its been done but I love it ….:-)
@AdventureTrudge
@AdventureTrudge Рік тому
Unfortunately, we do not have a plan for this design and built it to fit our exact needs. Your dinette may/will need to be completely different dimensions. I will try to break down the dimensions as best as possible and I'm happy to answer any more questions that come up. Here is a link to the instagram page we got the design from - the creator on that page may be able to give you better insight - instagram.com/romeurei/?hl=en *For all components below, we used 3/4" sanded plywood* *Section 1* - Video time point: 0:30 - 2:25 - Back of Seats (stationary) - 2 each (one for each side of dinette) - 40" tall x 24" wide with cutouts at the bottom for our wheel well/electrical setup - Front of Seats (stationary) - 2 each - 16" tall x 23 1/4" wide (height dependent on how tall you want your seat to be once cushions are added) These two pieces are held together by 3, 25" long x 3" wide pieces to create the depth of the seat on one side of the dinette. On the opposite side of the dinette we used 3 pieces that were only 19" in length because we couldn't push our seat any further back into where our electrical components are. I would recommend making both seats 25" deep if you have the space, our 25" seat is much more comfortable than the 19" seat, but be aware this will affect your other measurements. *Section 2* - Video time point: 2:30 - 4:20 - "Second" Front of Seat (will slide in and out) - 2 each - 16" tall x 23 1/4" wide - Side of Seat (slides out) - 2 each -16 3/4" tall x 26 1/2" wide for the deeper seat and 16 3/4" tall x 20 1/2" wide for the shallower seat - Sliding Seat Front Lip - 2 each - 3" wide x 23 1/4" long These three pieces are screwed together (with pocket holes) and will create the base of the seat that slides out. They sit on top of the stationary pieces and are not connected to them. *Section 3* - Video time point: 4:20 - 5:18 - Back of Seat Triangle - 2 each - a right "triangle" approximately 23 1/4" tall with a 4" base and 1" width at the top. These will attach to the "Side of Seat" pieces in section 2 and be a part of the seat that slides out. - Top of Seat - 2 each - approximately 1 3/4" wide x 24" long. These pieces will attach to the top of the "Back of Seats" in Section 1. These pieces will create a lip on the top of each seat back that the triangle pieces above slides under. We beveled the edge of this piece to match the angle of the triangle (shown at 5:50 in the video) *Section 4* - Video time point: 5:20 - 6:10 - Stationary seat cross piece - 2 each - We don't really talk about this piece but you can see us attaching it at 5:22 in the video. This is the piece at the back base of each seat that the hinge mechanism will attach to later on. (approximately 39 1/4" x 3") - Sliding seat cross piece (I point this piece out at 5:39) - 2 each - 23 14" long x 4" wide, this piece will sit directly on top of the stationary seat cross piece above but will be attached to the sliding seat. This is also the piece that the sliding seat back rest will be attached to. - Sliding Seat Backrest - 2 each - 24" tall x 23 3/4" wide, these are your main back rests. They will be attached to the sliding portion of each chair. They are attached with pocket holes to the "back of seat triangle piece" in section 3 and to the "sliding seat cross piece" in Section 4. *Section 5* - Video time point: 6:10 - 7:00 - Sliding Seat Seat Base - 2 each - 24" wide x Depth of seat, our shallow seat is 24" x 14 3/4" and our deep seat is 24" x 20 3/4" These pieces will attach to the "Sliding Seat Backrest" in Section 4 with small hinges. They will be supported from below by the "Sliding seat cross piece" in section 4 and the "Sliding Seat Front Lip" in Section 2. *Section 6* - Video time point: 8:00 - 9:00 - Sliding Seat Stopping Piece - 2 each - approximately 2" x strip connected to the underside of the sliding seat. I think the video does a pretty good job at explaining this piece, we don't have the exact dimensions but you should be able to figure out how to make it work in your design. Let me know if you need more details! *Section 7* - Video time point: 9:00 - 12:15 - Hidden Seat Backrest - 2 each - 20 1/4" wide x 23 1/4" tall - Hidden Seat Base - 2 each - Deep Seat: 20 1/4" wide x 21 1/2" deep; Shallow Seat: 20 1/4" wide x 15 1/2" deep This is where things get a bit dicey. I'll be completely honest and say I spent most of the day zooming into the pictures on @romeurei 's instagram where we found the design and made it up as best as I could as I went. These two pieces are connected together via two small hinges and then connected to the "Stationary seat cross piece" in Section 4 with the hinge mechanism shown at 10:30 in the video. *Section 8* - Video time point: 12:15 - 15:16 Troubleshooting - Again, I think the video does a good job at describing the minor tweaks we had to make so our seats could slide/hinge properly but if you have specific questions about this section let me know! *Section 9* - Video time point: 15:16 - 16:39 - Primary Table - 24" wide x 37 1/2" long; The width of the table was determined by the width of our seats and the length was determined by the length of space between the fronts of our two Sliding Seat Bases (section 5). The length should fit snugly between the fronts of the seat bases when lowered down to create your couch/bed set up. The table leg we used is linked in the description of the video. We added two additional pieces of 3/4" plywood along the bottom of our table for extra support (shown at 16:23). - Secondary Table - 21" wide x 37 1/2" long; The secondary table was made the exact same way as the primary table. It is slightly less wide to account for the hidden seats being less wide than the sliding seats. - Wall Table Support - We don't mention this in the video but you can see it at 17:54 beneath the table. We added a strip of 3/4" plywood along the wall at the height of our " Sliding Seat Front Lip". This is to add extra support for the table when it is in couch/bed mode. Wow! That was a lot! I want to stress that we did not have a plan ahead of time and figured these measurements out as we went. They are very specific to our space and I would recommend only using these measurements as a loose guide and not the rule.🧡

Love it! Do you think if the triangle pieces were 5 inches at the bottom and 2 inches at the top you would have enough clearance for the original design?
@AdventureTrudge
@AdventureTrudge Рік тому
Yes definitely! We wanted to maximize seat space which is why we tried to make the triangle piece as small possible but if you wanted to follow the original design I think 2” and 5” would work!
