The bank has a master key to open each one of those safety deposit boxes and I'm sure the manager probably emptied everyone of them that the owners never claimed after receiving notice the bank was moving or closing. $5 worth of nickels and $80 cash I couldn't even begin to understand why someone would pay rent on a safety box that cost alot more per year then even the $80 that was in the one. Makes for an interesting video though real or not

They have one here in new Orleans, it was abandoned after hurricane Katrina I went in it the other day. Along with 2 hospitals and an old factory they call the stacks because of the 2 huge brick chimney stacks.

The property owner is the only one who can give them permission. The only other reason i can think of is he owns a salvage company that comes in after and recycles all the metal. The bank would turn over keys though if you buy the boxes off them. You as the owner would be responsible for removing them though. The bank then turns over keys to you(the new owner) so these guys could have bought them, stuffed them with stuff, then made this video.

if you guys ever come across another vault with boxes like these, try and save then inner boxes as best as you can, you can sell them individually or in groups to people looking for storage boxes, some of those could even be re used as a type of lock box, or as a storage box for records , bills of sale , tax records, or family photos, , so many things, I can't cover here.

My wife is a bank manager and she said no way that this would happen. They would check everything big time before closing the bank down and they have master keys to open every box and some banks Safe the doors contain a master keyed open boxes in case a master key is lost .love to know the name of the bank

a bank is not allowed to open safe depositss the only one what is allowed to is the person who deposits there stuff if they dont pick it up after the notice of the bank closing thats to bad but it will be left in there seeing as its personal affects

What about abandon schools, hospitals & businesses. They all have cafeterias with cash registers. Hospitals usually have a cashier office where people go the pay their bills. Also they often have ATM,s vending machines, often a number of them throughout The facility and usually have a small cashier desk at the ER. The desk in the main lobby may also have cash. These places could be fun and funny!!!
