When in the Valley there are many other things to see, and this video shows and tells you about them. Great for trip planning! Including Goosenecks state Park, The Valley of the Gods, Muley point, House on Fire Ruin and more.

I have been to all of the National parks in Utah. The best place in all of Utah is not a National Park but a National Monument located in Bluff/ Blanding Utah. I'll take Bears Ears National Monument over most of the National parks in America. Everything is pretty much off road. You need a high clearance vehicle 4WD really helps out. Sometimes the off road drive to the trailhead is longer than the hike.

This is my favorite area in the whole USA! And possibly my favorite spot ever is up on top of the Moki Dugway. I stumbled on it while driving around (before GPS technology) without any kind of itinerary and was smitten when I got to the top. I can't wait to go back again!

The West is Big! Travel Guides Absolutely! I live in the beautiful mountains of Virginia, however, I love all of America and it has been my mission in life to see as much of it as possible. I particularly love the southwestern deserts, red rock landscapes, and rugged mountains. I have a few Native American friends that I try to visit as often as possible in Monument Valley. I am a singer/songwriter/author and that is how I discovered the northwest, which I can never see often enough. I am currently trying to talk my son into a trip that way very soon. I want to see Crater Lake... once more. He makes a great traveling companion. Like me, he enjoys solitude among raw nature and the history of the people native to these mesmerizing places. A few years back, I invited a teaching colleague of mine to trek west with us. One of our stops was the Grand Canyon. Personally, I could remain in one place overlooking the canyon all day and be totally content. It’s beautiful to watch the changes in the canyon as the sun or storm moves across it. So, I was disappointed when she couldn’t see what I saw or make that spiritual connection. I had no words for her when she said,” This is it?” Seriously, not all people connect with nature. I am free to travel, but my son can’t always go. I’m hoping he will find a few free week very soon. I really enjoy your videos. You’ve identified places that I’ve not seen. Who knows, perhaps I will find a sponsor and like you, show others what they’re missing. You do a wonderful job. Take care and don’t feed the bears 🐻

Thanks for watching. Crater lake is on my list too. I'm in the early idea stage of a Cascades video that will include Rainier, St. Helens and Cascades NP and lesser know hiking spots up there that I've been to. BTW- my 90+ min Glacier NP vid is pretty good. You may also like my Native American Builder's video. It includes Chaco Culture, Hovenweep and even Cohokia.

The West is Big! Travel Guides ... Sounds like another great adventure awaits you. Have you ever been to Crater Lake. I can’t imagine that you haven’t. It is one of the most beautiful spots in nature that I have ever seen. It literally makes me dizzy. I’m not fond of heights. Standing high above it on the rim on a bright sunny day can really trick my senses. When looking down into it, the reflection of the sky above is so perfect that it makes me feel as if I could easily “fall up.” It’s so neat how the sky above becomes the sky below. In a couple of pictures I took, I incorporated the bough of a nearby pine as I shot down into the lake. When people see the photo, they believe the shot is from the ground through a tree to the sky. That place is so mysterious... and for more reasons than one. I’ve taken the road from Medford, Oregon to the lake a couple of times, but I really want to take the road from Bend to the lake. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful drive. I will be watching for your cascades video. Can’t wait to see that. It’s a pleasure chatting with you. Take care. Delilah

There is a new rule in Monument Valley you will have to hire a guide that will set you back at least $500 if you want to take a photo of a sunrise or sunset. Hours for taking a photo are between 1p.m. and 5p.m. when the light is horrible. Just keep that in mind before you go there, you are not going to get that amazing photo that everyone wants.
