Story mode. And as an enemy, not playable. WB loves to cut it's games to sell it piece by piece... Not to mention the bonus fighter that everyone buying the game at full price should get, not only those who preordered it, and the abusive grind, rng rewards and macrotransactions.

How exactly do you know that WB made every single decision for MK1? How do you know that NetherRealm made none? While publishers have been known to interfere with development of games before who’s to say all these bad decisions was not NetherRealm making them? Very few studios can keep producing great or even good games.
