Girls Generation was a respected group until they kicked out their own member right after a very first massive successful korean reality show based on two real sisters. SM told them how it will affect their image in the market, But some of them said "we don't a shit". "if she joins us, we'll go off the stage"

Stop spreading false accusations cuz until now SNSD members still says they are 9 and those are speculations saying members kicked her out because Sica and Taeyeon aren't close.. well that's a lie if so Taeyeon could've done it earlier. Jessica had a conflict with her contract in where she used her position as a member of SNSD in making her business only for herself where it's against the contract and the members don't even bothered to get a profit from it but SME didn't let it passed and that's why she was removed..

Twice’s consistency is something else. These girls never fell below the top 4 spot since debut and constantly keep producing music despite challenges. I’m so proud of TWICE and ONCE.

Exo secured their place for years, however when the members start to enter military they lose some of their fame. But they will always be the legends of kpop. As you can see in this chart, since 2013 they started to secure their place until 2017.

Bts just chilling at the bottom to mid, and exploded to the top, while most others reached top three the moment they debuted… They worked really hard from scratch, same goes to mamamoo… They both deserve the fame they have now… one of the reasons I appreciate bts very deeply. They are the epitome of starting from the deep bottom and gradually reaching the top, step by step with hardwork and time. This video shows it all.

The way I see, BTS always only stayed at top for short moment before taken over by other group. They could hold no2 for long though... The ones who led the top spot for a long time were GG, EXO and BP. They didn't explode either.. BP was always behind closely when BTS raised to the top. While BTS couldn't do the same when BP dominated the chart to 9+% of the chart. I'm neither BTS's hater or BP's fan.. I'm just say what I saw at the video.

They held the spot for quite along time considering how many awards and record they have made which are more than any artists on this chart have had. Bro you’re just in denial lmao, they worked hard from nothing, they deserve it. It is what it is. Their group set examples other artists couldn’t. I’m not a fan but at least I know the facts to not be in denial about it. Bp/exo/gg, comes from a well known company and vicinity, no shit they’ll be at the top even if they make shifty music (I said “even” I didn’t say they do). At this point after BTS’s hardwork to be on the top, if they were to make shitty music, it might hit off as well. But they don’t . Maybe except for SIA.ON, which went viral for being horrible.

My STRAY KIDS are really the 4th generation leader 👑 and one of the leaders among all. Look how they are the 4th after such legends as BTS, Blackpink and Twice. I don't think the first 3 places are going to change in the near feature because it's the most popular kpop acts not only now but of all time. I'm so proud of my Stray Kids😭 they went from most unknown Jyp group to the successful group. They showed how popularity doesn't come from heaven, you have to earn it with your own efforts

Really fascinating video. It’s interesting how much Girl’s Generation and Super Junior dominated the early part of the decade and how quickly some newer groups rose up the charts. You can also see the increased breadth of influence of K-pop as the chart shifts from only a couple dominant groups to more groups sharing more of the space. Similarly, you can really see how Blackpink, BTS and (my favorite K-pop group) Twice dominated the latter part of the decade and the beginning of the current decade. Really cool. Idea for future vids: it would be interesting to see a split-screen side-by-side of this video with a group video for say, Twice, showing their rises and dips in popularity starting at debut and corresponding with the release of specific singles and albums as well as widening tour scopes (first tour of Japan, Europe, North America etc) and television appearances. This would give you innumerable opportunities for group-specific videos of all these different groups. Well done.

hey...don't mind...EXO is a very talented group..but to shine in the west..you have to have a different charm...and honestly...EXO does lack in that somewhere..also, they are very generic like any other KPOP boy groups..but you have to be a bit different than that to be well known and to be successful in the West! And they were kind of promoted in the beginning but they couldn't capture the Market as BTS! Coz BTS makes their own song and tell their own stories...that's a very big advantage for the BANGTAN boys! Anyways, I love EXO as well..no hatred...I just wanted to state the facts...

To think how amazing it is, EXO began to top back in 2013, when the third generation had not even started properly and the second-gen was at its peak. The time when rookies could not even dream to be at the same level as the second-gen. And how they managed to still be on the scene continuously till 2018, despite suffering numerous member losses, scandals, not having a proper promotion, and with the third generation at its peak. They reigned over both the second and third generations when they were having the best times of their careers. People nowadays may try hard to ignore their achievements and keep them out of the list. But influence can never.

So heartbreaking to see that BTS seems to struggle those earlier time. But when Blackpink debut starting 2016-2018, this two have been catching up to one another. This video is using some flawed metric, they were atop in 2013-14, not the rest of the years. It is so wrong it is funny. They were nothing compared to BigBang in 2015-16 and BTS in 2017. It is not even a debate they were not competing with BB and BTS as they were in the league of their own at the time.

TWICE's consistency at the top is amazing, especially considering they don't even have a western concept. Blackpink's BTS's and TWICE's race at the top is just the best haha. And I love seeing some of my older personal favorites: Wonder Girls (Reboot is so underrated!) and f(x) (their discography is so strong). Congratulations on all the groups making it on this list. Happy to see their hard work gets recognized because K-pop can be harsh and many acts work so hard and don't get recognized.

Another factor that was also very influential for the "Girls Generation" at that time, one of which was the internet infrastructure which experienced significant improvements in various countries, especially in Asian countries. The video with quality is very clear for the first time, when I watch Girls Generation on UKposts, previously the video quality on UKposts was not satisfactory.

Don't discredit them cuz a few ppl know them, the whole of korea knows them and they used youtube and other korean media sites mainly to stream LOL. They won many daesangs for a reason.
