Mounted Police Clear Pro-Palestinian Protesters at University of Texas

11 днів томуHundreds of local and state police - including some on horseback and holding batons - cleared pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of Texas campus in Austin. About 30 arrests were made. The University says its campus will not be occupied. Similar protests have been held at college campuses across the country.
Students protesting the Israel-Hamas war are demanding schools cut financial ties to Israel and divest from companies enabling the conflict. Some Jewish students say the protests have veered into antisemitism and made them afraid to set foot on campus, partly prompting a heavier hand from universities.

I see those mounted police in downtown Austin on the weekends. You don’t realize how big and intimidating a Clydesdale horses until you’re standing next to it. I have seen them do some crowd control and their batons are like 3 feet long and they do not mind using them.

They should arrest and deport any protestors here on a student visa and any student on scholarship should lose their scholarship and also be jailed and fined to the maximum allowed by law. There were several interviews caught on video. They got them softened up, and thinking the interviewer was supporting the protest. They are asked, "WHY are you here?" the answers were shocking. They didn't know ANY details as to the reason the protests were happening. They didn't know who the Palestinians were. Where GAZA was. Only that it is a STRIP. They couldn't convey what "to the sea" meant. They didn't know WHAT SEA. When pressed they simply said, "I've got to go now". I would bet if handed a map, they couldn't even point to where Gaza, Israel or Iran was. Totally agree, they have READ NOTHING.
