The scene with aragorn really showed viggo's dedication to his craft on a level no other actor in history can claim he stayed in character in what I can only imagine was the most brutal pain imaginable that gets him my respect as what a dedicated artist of an actor he is.

Most of the time, the people on camera command the screen so well you almost forget they’re actors. That disillusionment from reality is one of the things that makes film so beautiful.

what people never mention is that the actor with the sword stayed in character and dropped down as if he was shot, despite that not being in the scene. that acting is what made that scene stay in. if he just stood there like "wait, what.. was there a script change" we wouldn't have had it.

Viggo Mortensen did break 2 of his toes after kicking that orc head,and the scream in the movie is the genuine scream of pain,but it was not an improvised scene,they had to take 4 or 5 shots until he aimed the head as close to the camera as possible,what we see in the movie is Viggo finally aiming the helmet the way they wanted him to and breaking his toes in the process,and not breaking character...

I had seen a couple of these before including the expensive guitar smashing one and I’m a little surprised they wouldn’t just use a replica rather than borrowing a genuine antique.

I remember in "Karate Kid", Ralph Macchio really got his face front roundhouse kicked by William Zabke. They left it in. So, that dazed look and bruise were real. Glad they kept that it. I'm sure William was apologetic. But, accidents happen in fight scenes.

If I recall right, the Iron Patriot suit was enhanced with Vibranium. As per canon, Vibranium absorbs and rebounds energy, but it also has the side effect of increasing the kinetic energy imparted by it after absorbing it. A bullet that hits something made of vibranium can see a kinetic energy increase of as much 100x. So, the bullet ricocheting off of his suit and blasting through a bullet proof window isn't exactly absurd. Furthermore, bullet proof glass is bulletproof in only one direction. This is due to how they're layered with polycarbonate layers. If the a bulletproof glass pane is shot from the wrong directly, the polycarbonate layer is broken through first causing the glass layers to shatter. Notably, however, this isn't why this scene is at the 18 minute mark is incorrect. Rather, it's the type of bullets used by service members while onboard a plane. Both sky martials and secret service members who travel with the President on Airforce 1 use ceramic bullets. While still deadly, they're designed to shatter rather than puncture things like windows and the outer shell of a plane. Such a bullet wouldn't ricochet after hitting the Iron Patriot suit, but rather shatter into thousands of smaller pieces.

This just reveals how natural these great actors get into character so we don't even know the mishaps. Incredible skills! 💘

The BEST blooper to make it in a movie is Dr. Strangelove. George C. Scott's tumble in the War Room when he goes to point to the Big Board. Scott was so quick to recover his tumble and stay in character - Kubrick kept that take in. And Hoffman and Schlesinger also put to rest The Midnight Cowboy incident. I believe it was said it was shot on a Sunday morning sans permit - but with extras, and a timed taxi appearance. Bad enough putting a up and coming star like Hoffman into potential harms way of getting hit by a car - but Hoffman AND Voight? So yes, for insurance purposes and all, that was carefully choreographed. But so well done by Hoffman, people like to think it was improv with NY's finest. Even Voight's expression after the encounter, though somewhat humored evokes "damn, this Dustin guy is good!".

How did the scene from the Dark Knight not make it? In the Dark Knight, the hospital explosion was supposed to go off without any issues. Heath Ledger's reaction to the explosion not working was improvised and ICONIC.

"a quick computer touch up" HA! Having worked on over 32 films with 'quick computer touch ups', I can tell you that they are neither quick, nor does the computer do it for you. Also, they are expensive, which explains why they sometimes fall through the cracks.

The Aragorn kick was something P.J. Wanted Viggo to do. There is a BTS where he explains it and had asked Viggo to kick the helmet closer to the camera. So impro? Maybe started of like it but he made that kick like 5-8 times

The blood that was smeared on the actresses face in Django Unchained was fake blood, they cut after a camera shift to clean up the cut and then put on fake blood to continue the scene. The blood smear was Leo's addition.

According to IMDB, the blood used on her face was fake and added in a later take. It's very frustrating when you tell us inaccurate information.
