This sequel "blows azz," too. Aside from some lovely shots (when they're not wholly cgi) the plot is weak (they re-wrote Star Wars), there is no characterisation of the rival force (it's obvious they wanted, but didn't have the balls to say Iran), mission & aviation even less accurate than the original (saying a LOT) and somehow Maverick's story apparently hasn't developed at all in 30 years (his invented billet fails to explain how his rank is feasible at this stage); well, unless you count his obvious death at mach10 in the first 5mins of the film. Also, less writing/more filming: they get basic physics confused, don't even bother to understand radar or keep track of which missiles are IR vs. radar lock, all the staff are incompetent for zero reason (except Swiss-army Hondo, who "does it all") and (possibly linked) every manoeuvre is undertaken at stupidly unsafe separation distance... to name just a few glaring issues. I know this focuses on the pilot/s but the fact those aircrafts can handle those Gs and even reach that kind of speeds are truly engineering marvels.
@boonedocksfl2012Рік тому
The effect of Mav saying "Popping in 3-2-1" and the audio coming from the command station, radio and local on each number was neat. I think they did this in Dunkirk also.
@josephmonroy3865Рік тому
Exactly how Luke should have been treated.
@optimusprimus89Рік тому
This is the best scene. It's perfectly done and even how we are feeling what the other pilots feel. And it's amazing how the the whole movie the Admiral is totally baffled as to why Maverick is even around. And this scene, he understands.
@ralphlazio505Рік тому
Huge come back to Top Gun. Absolutely awesome 👍🏼🍻

Cruise again hits the right buttons........Top Gun Top Class movie, loved it
@DaitoFXРік тому
One of the greatest scenes tom cruise ever made
@KiranAlokkanРік тому
His exploits... Are legendary.
@Pilar129Рік тому
There were some cold punch lines throughout. I love Ed Harris “Stick Jockey” comment while Mav is cookin at Mach 10.2😂
@danielpercent5434Рік тому
I like how they had a young Maverick in this movie (Hangman) making Cruise see the younger version of himself. Also I like the fact that even thought the Top Gun movies are exaggerated on the real deal, they did in fact add a character who closely resembles the real pilots we have today (Bob) to me I enjoyed seeing these different elements in the movie haha. :)
@rikvermar7583Рік тому
when the daggers take off on the mission the sequence of events from the launching of the Tomahawks, the getting into formation and how they handle the threat of the SAMS, especially the way they avoid the incoming missiles with a combination of sharp turns and deploying flares, i found the whole mission interesting as it gives you a slight glimpse of how the US war machine does their stuff
@AA-xo9uwРік тому
Bob is a NFO not a pilot but most Naval aviators and NFOs are laid back unassuming people. The Hangmans are rare exceptions.
@one-eyedbeanie7915Рік тому
The best line was just before this part, where the traffic controller said he wasn't scheduled to flights today and Maverick says: "well... I'm going anyway"
@centurionesl2476Рік тому
Maverick is like, "fine, i'll do it myself".. lol
@TheMaverick2youРік тому
no words to explain this bro. it's a feeling an emotion.

I think people loved this scene because we love to see something impossible accomplished

This movie was amazing.. Well done to everyone that was involved in making this..
@americanpaisareturns9051Рік тому
This scene was amazing in IMAX we were all cheering in the theater.
@BosscheesemoРік тому
Nevermind all else it's worth it just to see a navy pilot beat the hell out of Tom Cruise in a cockpit and his recorded reactions
@DJP-ph7yjРік тому
I love how Hangman gestures himself............ like its going to be fun watching.......... He looks like if he could've had popcorn with him, he'd be right at home.

Hang would drop the popcorn quickly

By far the most intense movie I’ve seen.
@patrickhutchison6465Рік тому
With all the crap Hollywood pushes out, I’m so glad this great film was made and that some people still know how to do it right.
@dmarr83Рік тому
I've rewatched this movie like 6 times. Truly incredible
@Abanindra999Рік тому
Been watching him since I was a kid....watching him now...and he still keeps going...
@metaloreРік тому
In the space of a month Hondo goes from being commander of an experimental jet program to drill sergeant for navy pilots to chief on the deck of an aircraft carrier. Evidence that the whole movie was a dream from the time Maverick died after reaching Mach 10.
@jcceazer1468Рік тому
Top Gun 2; YES! How soon 'til we get to see Risky Business 2.
@flashyred9125Рік тому
haha 🤣 "this is where we've had trouble with comms, sir'' savage. missed that hilarious trash talk while watching the movie glad to have spotted it now
@johnwaterman3661Рік тому
This scene was incredibly peaceful and it really set the tone for the rest of the movie
@bens8013Рік тому
Hi John, It is beautiful. You may enjoy; on UKposts, there is a video of a U2 pilot going to the edge of space, it reminds me of this. The color of the sky is amazing. You should try and find it! ...Hope you like it if you do.
@johnwaterman3661Рік тому
@@bens8013 thanks! I'll go look for it!
@ralphs8858Рік тому
Thought Top Gun was better, but I liked how they wrote Maverick’s story, especially how it went down with Iceman watching over him through the years. Also, the homage to the Chuck Yeager scene in The Right Stuff was cool. 👍
@element-dh9dxРік тому
Man, if someone had told me the best scenes would be on UKposts I wouldn't have rented the whole movie lol.
@Bboy3147Рік тому
Just if you already didn't know Maverick is built different

I love the new Top Gun. Just amazing movie without any propaganda in it !!

No propaganda, just a proper Goose. A proper 'talk-to-me' Goose.
@inesharroyuy341Рік тому
"without any propaganda" lol!

What a masterpiece, I'd been to theater 4th times for it. First in normal 2D, 2nd and 3rd in IMAX and 4th with 4DX. And each time it still makes me stunned even tho you know what the story is going on.
@bens8013Рік тому
Which screen was the best?....(serious question?)...we have pretty new Cinemark theatre's where I live.
@cybercat7851Рік тому
You can’t unhear it now: the Darkstar’s engines sound like sucking soda through a straw

One of the best movies I’ve ever watched in the Theater. Tom Cruise is a different breed of Actor
@BMWCubsManРік тому
Anyone else catch the throwback scene when he crashes after Mach 10 and walks into the diner? It's almost a tribute to Back to The Future. And the way he says "Just A Little Push" is almost exactly how Heath Ledger says that same line in The Dark Knight.
