Bean's reaction at 7:17 reminds me of myself during the final exam for one of my Master's degree courses back in the day. The exam had six problems and we had two hours to complete it. I got stuck in the final problem and couldn't even comprehend what was asked for a long time. Then, with little over 5 minutes left, I finally understood the problem and realized I knew the solution. I managed to rapidly scribble a somewhat structured solution and even draw a figure to support my answer, finishing just seconds before the time was up and pens had to be put down. Results of the exam? I got 35 out of maximum 36 points :)

That's how I met Mr Bean. My father had rented a vhs tape of Hot Shots Part Deux and this started playing. I was confused at first. Didn't know if I had the wrong tape or if it was part of the movie, but started watching. It was so funny, I laughed so much, that almost died of asphyxia.

This examination part so hilarious, is the best comedy of the 90's. Wow! He's really the great comedian ever.

This looks like it was produced with the intention of being shown before films in American cinemas in 1991. It's the same production team as the TV series but HBO co-distributed it based on the credits. I guess this was a way of introducing Mr. Bean to Americans? Very curious footnote for the history of Mr. Bean.

I gather it was made to be shown in cinema's in the early 1990's to further 'test the water' and grow the brand awareness of Mr Bean overseas with international audiences. Interesting to see that Rowen's ex wife Sunetra Sastry was also the make up artist for this episode after originally working with him during the production of the Blacker series at the BBC. John Savident coincidentally also appeared with Rowan during the un-broadcasted pilot episode of The Blackadder. UK audiences will know him most as Coronation Street's Fred Elliott

The whole time I never knew that the first part of the pilot to “Mr. Bean” was remade into a short film. But this was still enjoyable and hilarious either way. It would’ve been cool if they included the scene towards the end where Mr. Bean went “woah, mummy” and started crying. 😂 Other than that, it was awesome.

I still remember it was cold night of December 2008 when i was with my cousin watching on tv.. It was that time when the 3G and 4G in Mobile wasn't here it was only tv and computers were the source of entertainment ... Ahhh sigh... It was so relief..

For a time, I had a Chinese girlfriend who spoke very little English. Mr Bean was one of the few things we could watch together and enjoy. Come to think of it, it was the only thing we could watch together and enjoy. Rongfen, where ever you are, I think of you often and I wish you well.

This almost happened to me in law school. The economics exam had exceptionally taken place in the same auditorium as the law exams. I had taken place on one of the seats for economics and I almost had a heart attack when I saw the questions lol.

I felt his panic although im not in school anymore. Worst nightmare 😂
