I've always loved how they made Bobby a pastor, especially when Bobby was shown to actually have a heart. Didn't wanna hurt Daniel too bad, was reluctant to hurt Daniel's knee and immediately apologized and quit Cobra Kai. Bobby is one of my favorites ngl

This is not just my favorite fight scene from the Karate Kid series, it is my favorite fight scene in cinema history! Pat Johnson deserves A LOT of credit for this!

One of the greatest scenes in movie history. Choreography and brilliant cinematography aside, the music (combination of "No Shelter" and Bill Conti's masterful score) deserve so much of the credit of why this scene works as well as it does.

Have to admit, I did admire the way Miyagi reserved the nut-shot for Dutch, arguably the nastiest of the Cobra-Kai students.

I always liked how Cobra Kai showed Johnny’s side. “You couldn’t leave well enough alone” line was very true. Daniel wasn’t innocent just maybe less guilty than Johnny but neither are totally blameless in the movie.

About this scene: The skeleton fight scene endured numerous takes because the actors complained that Fumio Demura (Pat Morita's stunt double) was hitting them too hard, which caused the scene to lose some of the choreography and authenticity. Fumio told the director that if he could use his own students they would get the shot in one take. The director agreed and they shot the fight scene successfully in one take. Bobby was the only one who really didn't belong with Cobra Kai. At the beach scene, he's also the only one that shows concern for Daniel.

This dramatically powerful scene from a PG-movie from the 80s has the intensity of an R-rated movie. It leaves a mark on the viewers' psyche. We're still talking about it nearly 40 years later. Compare this to the passionless, neutered remake of this scene from 2010 version. That is one of the many reasons 80s films like this stand the test of time and so many modern play-it-safe mainstream films fade so quickly.

I agree with Bobby. Mercy is not “exactly” for the weak. Even the strong and skilled have their moments of being merciful. Bobby was shown to have that the most out of any of them. Johnny went on later throughout the years of the methods he learned and in addition with newer methods of karate and bringing the whole thing with Daniel to a resolution whether their enemies who became friends, or even are the best of frenemies. Dutch, however, being the most cocky and ill-tempered one of them all, has become too much more of John Kreese or even worse than him and later incarcerated. Tommy and Jimmy, however, I can’t say much about. More than likely Jimmy went on to learn the most orthodox methods of Karate.

Damn it didn't even have to be a long back and forth, this fight scene is so epic because of how quick and efficient Miyagi is.

Pat Johnson coordinated the fight scenes in Karate Kid, and played the Ref as well. He was also in Enter the Dragon as muscle for a loan shark. What people didn't know about Pat Johnson and he never got the total credit for, is that even though he was Chuck Norris student, he later became every bit as good as Chuck Norris.

The differences in the Karate Kid (1984) and 2010 films are: 1.) In 1984, Daniel tried to take revenge against Johnny by turning on the toilet tap water 2.) In 2010, Dre tried to get revenge on them by pouring water from the air filter machine into a bucket

That kick, had it landed, could very well have killed Daniel. Mister Miyagi didn't just save Daniel's life, but he effectively saved Johnny, Dutch, Tommy and Bobby from themselves in committing murder or at the very least man slaughter.

Johnny had a lot of nerve telling Danny that he couldn't leave well enough alone and had to push it despite that Johnny and his guys were pushing Daniel around so much and attacking him.

Those spandex skeleton suits are cool. Very similar to the longtrack speedskating suits that men used to wear in the 1980s during speedskating competitions.

I've always wondered what the secret to Mr Miyagi's flawless defense is. Chozen explains some of it in Cobra Kai season 3, but I'm quite sure there's more.

Mr. Miyagi never touched Johnny's face but he ended up with a shiner. I really hated Dutch and Tommy the most.

I always loved the fact that the writers put a guy like Bobby in the gang. Someone who was seeing how over the top Johnny and everyone else was being towards Daniel. It even goes back to the first scene we see Bobby in with Johnny when he saw Ali and Daniel on the beach. Bobby telling Johnny to leave it alone. Having at least one person in the group who had a conscience was a great idea. It just meant they weren't all bad teenage eggs.

Little did they know, Daniel had a "karate master" of his own😆😆😆
