One of Keaton's best~~~great cast and very funny movie. Great watching for a "blue" day!

Being 12 when this movie came out and still loving it today brought me here!

The argument about the beard and flannel shirt is THE BEST...I want that whole rant as my ring tone..."The house is mess Jack, the kids are a mess Jack, your a mess Jack"

when I was a kid, I never really understood the movie, just that it had a cool vacuum cleaner in it, and I saw a glimpse of a lawnmower(I was always into lawnmowers too), also the tv repair woman fixing the tv and it showed one of the original "justice league" cartoons. Also, the "chainsaw part"- I'm gonna have to borrow that chainsaw one of these days- then it'll be "how about a little trim on that mustache Jace?

What started out as smug confidence turns to mayhem and panic. This movie is great

my dad had a huge old fan(kinda like a shop fan without the stand) he said when he was in the army, they actually made a fan with a washing machine motor. I dont know, but up until like, 10 or 15 years ago, he had some kind of fan or something hung up by bailing wire in his barn hi up. I plugged it in via a real long fat 2 wire cord it had, not for very long-maybe a second- sounded like an airplane- I thought it would fly off!

I used to have a 1-CR that started up like that. after awhile, I had to change the bearings. still started up like that. and ya know what else it could be is that second motor in the movie vacuum starting up too.

"You gave a baby chili? Aaahhhh!!!"

Pretty cool so I guess the answer is that Stanley was a vacuum in the Mr. Mom world. Maybe a parent company of Schooner tuna.

I finally found what this movie was called. I remember back in March 2002 when I was 7 years old seeing this and thought it was hilarious. Never knew the name or saw it again until now.

yeah, it kinda does...I saw an ad that was from the 50's of a remote controlled mower. Then one day, I actually found the actual mower on ebay! I think I may have the picture saved. I'll check-that is if you care to see it

dude, I didn't mean to make you mad. I was just curious as to maybe someone actually went and built a Stanley (aka "Jaws") vacuum cleaner movie prop like that. Cuz I know a lot of other people have built movie props such as Ghostbusters props and stuff. I have quite a few machines, but not quite as many as you. Good job!

dunno man. I wondered that myself. maybe some guys name that had to do with the prop building for the movie, and they didn't want to pay royalties for the Scott&Fetzer company. pretty wicked machine . I wanted to build one. I tried to once looking at the screen shots from the movie best I could, but didn't get very far. I sure would like to know whatever happened to that prop. I even tried to contact the original prop master, but obviously didnt get far. I did find out recently.

Vacuum sound does not fit the visual at all. It should be a Kirby Classic 1cr sound, not a Hoover Convertible
