Back then, Nextel Direct Connect was big. I dealt mostly in construction where the companies tended use pagers and had to replace several a month due to breakage. The big presentation was, when I walked into a construction manager's office, I would take my Nextel phone off my side, slam it against the wall (often putting a hole in the wall), pick it up, turn it on, and PTT my office, proving it worked. Often, all I had to say was, "How many would you like?". Over hundreds of "presentations" I think I only broke my phone twice, both times against a brick wall.
