For older viewers of NCIS, having Ralph Waite from the Waltons playing Jackson Gibbs was a memorable appearance or having Bob Newhart playing Ducky’s predecessor as M.E for NCIS was memorable

Because Robert Wagner's casting as Tony's father is well known, especially given how Michael Weatherly played Wagner in the telemovie about Natalie Wood.

What about Jon Cryer? The Two and a Half Men star played a doctor that saved Gibbs’ life in the season 13 premiere.

Probably my favourite episode is S02E07, Call Of Silence, with Charles Durning, I love the scene where Dinozzo pulls Durning's tie aside to show his Medal of Honor and the marines snap to attention and salute.

Even at a young age, Millie could fake an amazingly convincing American accent. I was also surprised to see her in a small role in a 2015 Modern Family episode.

I can see Millie auditioning for a different episode, but when the casting agents saw how good she was they saved her for the evil twist episode that needed a really good actress.

When I first saw her on Stranger Things I immediately remembered her from NCIS. Her performance made her one of my two favorite guest stars - the other is Charles Durning. Learning MBB's character is a psychopath is a dark twist that might have been only an OKish ending but MBB's portrayal made it hit really hard.

Pam Dawber, Mark Harmon’s real life wife, appeared in several episodes. Their son played A younger Gibbs in several flashback scenes. Then there were all the former Star Trek actors who made appearances, including Jeri Ryan, Marina Sirtis, Tim Russ, and Connor Trinnear.

One of the best reoccurring roles on NCIS is of Agent Ned Dorneget, played by Matt Jones, who would appear on Breaking Bad , Mom, and other movies and shows. Another great reoccurring character is FBI Agent Tobias TC Fornell, played by Joe Spano.

I love that episode where he first appears and it's Pa Walton! The team's excitement that Gibbs has a father makes it one of my favorites!

NCIS was enriched by its stellar line up of outstanding guest stars. Gina Rowlands as Joann Fielding, Gibbs' mother-in law, was wonderful. So were the other guest stars mentioned in this thread. And Muse Watson as Mike Franks played perfeclty against Mark Harmon's Leory Jethro Gibbs. But my absolute favorite was Charles Durning as the WWII vet with delayed PTSD. I also enjoyed Drew Carey's guest turn. Factoid: I worked with Drew during his pre-fame restaurant days in Cleveland. Really a great guy!

THere was another great performance in that episode from Bronson PInchot, who played an imprisioned sociopath who the mother asked for advice.

If you have Ion on your cable or We you can watch it on both. Ion on Sunday and We on Saturday. They're my go to when I can't find something else. Also Paramount +(CBS streaming service)is showing all seasons.

The only one I disagree with on this list is Jamie Lee Curtis. I absolutely loved it when she was on the show, and I had always wished she could've stayed around longer.

So many of these guest stars were and are so fantasticly talented. For me their portrayals were so amazing and intense I lost the actors saw only the characters! Fantastic job.

Always amusing when the title is "you forgot were on" yet we get "fans remember fondly" in the video. That said, having Firefly clips makes up for it. Some you missed: Jeri Ryan - known for Trek and Leverage was Gibbs' second ex-wife. Charles Durning - played a WWII Medal of Honor recipient with survivor's guilt Terry O'Quinn - old friend of Gibbs who is hallucinating Mike Farrell - of MASH fame played a judge who was doing the Star Chamber Hal Holbrook - season 4's 'Escaped' French Stewart - played a convicted serial killer in two episodes Glen Powell - played a marine with PTSD 10 years before he was in Top Gun Maverick Adam Baldwin - played the commander of a special forces team Danica McKellar - of The Wonder Years played a murder witness who gets close to McGee Kelly Hu - played a North Korean assassin in a crossover with the LA spinoff Lance Hendrickson - our favorite 'artificial person' from Aliens played a sheriff in season 6 SXSW Cherlyl Ladd - played a girlfriend of Ducky until she turned out to be a serial killer.

There was this one episode that there was a girl who was hiding secrets in paintings. An episode which brought sharp-shooting Ziva perfectly in action.

I loved Tyler RItter as Abby's brother Luca. He is so much like his father, John RItter. If you closed your eyes you would think it was John talking. THe other would be French Stewart as serial killer/furrier Paul Triff.

Before Pam was on, Jamie was my favorite guest star. I also think it's interesting that two guys who have played doctors were terrorists on the show. Before he was on Chicago Med, Dominic Rains played the guy that killed Special Agent Paula Cassidy; and after he was on Bones, Pej Vahdat played the guy that kidnapped Director Vance.

Millie Bobby Brown and Charles Durning were my two favorite guest stars of the entire series. And Durning won an Emmy for his performance! When MBB's character turned into her true psychopath persona at the end it was startling and even bit frightening.

Millie Bobby Brown probably gave the most chilling peformance. but there are two other potential lists - Recurring characters such as Delilah (my favourite) Mann, Borin, thosee you wish had more appearences, (too many to list here) and simply powerful/memorable appearences, Millie Bobby Brown and Christopher Lloyd would top that list.

Sterling was also in early seasons of supernatural as a hunter who had a hardon for killing sam n he later ended up being turned into a vampire n later killed by sam How could u leave of Cameron Monaghan as the suspected son whose parent is killed which was filmed during the first two seasons of his run on the showtime series shameless(ncis also has had the actors who portrayed Kermit during the first two seasons of ncis as well as tommy durin either the fourth or fifth season as a hapless cab driver whose wife thelma bugs him) this was before his film(vampire academy)n future show(Gotham) n game(star wars) career. Also the father of Bresbine was a famous actor prior to his part in ncis
