I think that Ali was just being humble he's so fast for his size that people forget that he was a HUGE man that was incredibly lean due to how much he ran. He ranged from 210 to 235 pounds of VERY lean muscle(even for a boxer) throughout his career and 6 foot 3 with long reach. There's no way his punches individually wouldn't hurt like hell so the power difference imo wouldn't be incomparably big and plus Ali tanked barrages of punches from many huge heavy weights.
