Unbelievable Jarrod! Every time you visit Mark and his shop he has something totally mind blowing! His craftmanship now is at another level. They keep getting better! Definitely not for everyone but this family will have so much fun in this I'm sure! This is no Winnebago Revel! lol

Yes, this is BEAUTIFUL!!! It's artisanal and amazing -- and even when you don't go full on masterpiece, as Mark and his crew tend to do, the components alone are costing huge $$$ so out of reach for many -- no grudge against those who are able, and choose to go that route, but I'll be car camping in an SUV for my long-distance travels. Hopefully the $$ saved both upfront and in fuel and operating costs will pay for many an AirBnb, or hotel. Sadly that's not gonna be as glorious for off-grid, but it will work and is do-able on a fraction of the budget otherwise needed. Of course if I win the Lotto, I'll be looking up Mark for sure...

I would like it better if the rough (what looks like unfinished) edges of the wood weren't showing in the black countertop; such as, when you open the little compartments, break things down, etc.

Although the materials of this build look beautiful on first impression, for that price, I would have focused a little more on comfort along with utility. Maybe design an area for all the cushions in the base of what turns into a long bench type couch. They could have incorporated the bar area into the other counter, lost the redundant second bar fridge and it would have made room for what is obviously missing. It seems a little cramped and with the cushions taking up one whole side, it sacrifices a comfort zone, no big flat screen etc. I love all the designs on this channel but this one left me scratching my head a little. The customer designed their way right out of a comfortable environment. Hope you don't take this too harshly. Look forward to your future uploads.

I know for a Passenger Car, the only legal place for an open container of Liquor is in the Trunk. How do you get around this in a Van?

Is this all solid walnut timber or laminated/veneer? Like those bulk heads would have to be expensive in solid walnut! But I love it, curious if it’s ply underneath

Depends on where but there are some pieces that are solid walnut. I know the owner of this company spends a lot of time at high end wood places and shops around for some of the best quality. Not that other companies don’t do that but it’s rare for a company to spend hours upon hours shopping for the right wood

When you think about the labor costs, think about how much it would be to hire: an electrician, a plumber, an interior designer, a carpenter, a woodworker and an automotive mechanic.

I don't for a second question Marc's craftmanship, and I know he's building it spec for clients, but damn dude this van layout is atrocious, just terrible. A 170wb with a dedicated bar, a shower room without the shower (instead opting for outdoor? wtf lol), a bed with literally 8 different cushions to make the mattress (nowhere for the teenage daughter to sleep either), and you only gain a couple feet of countertop and useless walkway after packing away the entire bed and stacking all the cushions on one side of the van. Total waste of space on gimmicks and nonsense, it's like the Pimp My Ride of vans, it just blows my mind. Should have told these clients to hit the road. Call me a hater but I call it as I see it, that Bali van was epic. This is just too much money and not enough sense.

Nothing against Mark. He is great and does awesome vans. However, as a self builder I am over seeing so many professional built vans.

That’s fair. I try and show both, but the reason I show more pros is because I’m one of few channels that will promote pro builders. Also, as a self builder myself we can learn a lot from pro builders. Just as if you want to learn a skill you’d watch pros do that

@@JarrodTocci Professional yes! Necessity and personal needs & wants driving individual creativity not as much. Yes, these professionals build incredible vans, but the story/ narrative is thin with so many perfect vans. The individual creativity you put into your tiny home design and the effort spent in finding your perfect property is the kind of narrative I miss in the van build videos.

Projecting your own low self worth onto others isn't a good trait to have. You specifically commented to tear down another human being. This channel is amazing, you can learn a lot from all the unique builds at all ranges of cost from pros to self builds. The imagination, innovation, planning, and skill it takes to bring these to life is true art. That particular builder is in my top 3 builders I've seen. Every single van is unique and beautifully crafted. Personally, I'd volunteer my time just to learn from masters such as him and maybe bring a few of my own ideas to life. one day you'll learn to appreciate the value of others remarkable talents.
