I'm sure I am not the only one that shivers and become tearful when Matt screams 'And pushing us into self destruction' with such emotion and longing in his voice. No one can sing as emotionally as him, he has such a raw power within his voice, but it also contains innocence. And the high note at the end...i get goosebumps all over.

Blackout is an excellent song, I can't argue with that choice. I still can't decide for the same reason I stated in my previous comment. Micro Cuts is currently the song I can't stop listening to.

I completely agree. Muse is my all time favorite band, and my favorite songs come from them, but picking a favorite is just impossible.

For Showbiz, it's either Muscle Museum or Showbiz. I agree with Origin of Symmetry, although if i had to choose I'd have to say.......Citizen Erased For Absolution I'd have to say Butterflies and Hurricanes, even though that's another album with too many great songs to choose from, except for Endlessly, I don't like that song. I can't decide between Knights of Cydonia and Map of the Problematique for Black Holes and Revelations. For Resistance my favorite song is Exogenesis Symphony, but if you don't count all 3 songs as one, like I do, then part 2 Cross Pollination is my favorite part. Lastly, The 2nd Law, Animals, I was about to say Panic Station because it's the most addicting song in the album, but Animals is just a much more creative, and unique song.

I had read Matt Bellamy holds those falsetto for so long/so high because his vocal chords were smaller than normal, allowing him to sing as that high without previous training or practice. I'm assuming now Matt does train his voice but I can bet when it was this era he just randomly screamed. Thank you for your answer though :D

Nah, it doesn't hurt his throat at all unbelievably it's because when doctors looked at his throat to find out why he can sing so high is to do with Matthew Bellamy having smaller then average vocal chords allowing him to reach so high.

Second chorus: They make meeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! How as he keeps the note going, he morphs it into an ow/ah, as if to actually be screaming in pain. Its subtle, but a testament to the quality on show here - how not the lyrics, but the way the lyric is sung, adds the meaning.

I was only 6 when the Showbiz album was released :) . Too bad I didn't find out about Muse until 2 years ago, and I have loved them ever since. This song reminds me of a hurricane that starts off as just wind then explodes into an apocalyptic storm then dies out by the end. I feel like I can step into the hurricane whenever I listen :)

I'm not gonna lie, I DID find out about this band because of Dan and Phil about two years ago, but I fell in love with the music rather than just "omG SeNPaIs LisTEn tO iT SO I MusT ToO!!1!1" I don't associate Dan and Phil with the band anymore. I'm a massive fan of the band and am actually going to see muse next month. He's hit higher live. But if you're talking studio albums, I think he hit his highest in Megalomania's second chorus in the backing vocals where he screams "diiisGUIIIIIIISE" in the background.

This note at 4:48 is both one semi-tone higher than the one from Megalomania you are talking about, and not his highest solo note. This is a A flat 5, in hyper music he pulls off a screamed A5. As far as clean falsetto is concerned this might be his highest note though. Kinda weird how he hits higher live, you don't see many artists do that :p

Heh. Ok I am left stunned. This is the first muse song I've ever heard. Tbh idk what to think. It's left my heart racing. I'm giggling right now. Literally I've never heard anything like that. I would recommend listening to Animals, Starlight, and Undisclosed Desires. Another good one is Plug in Baby, but that one is a bit harsh at the beginning

Why are everyone hating on Dan and Phil? Sure their fanbase is made up of young women, or little girls, as you lot would put it, but those young women are acting a lot more mature than the Muse fanbase. Calling some youtubers who are highly loved 'fags' is utterly ridiculous. Also, telling someone to go kill themselves is really immature. I don't see the Phandom (Dan and Phil's fandom) telling that to the Muse fandom! So, people who have done the above things, please, if you do not wish to remove the comment, at least apologise. A pair of youtubers have brought people to this song, to this band, and I think you should welcome them and show them some other songs. You never know, they might end up liking the band.

I could do it and it wasn't very difficult. I'm a soprano so I can go that high, even higher, but you might be an alto if you have a lower voice

Bearing in mind that music is the greatest of human art forms......then this song is probably the most emotionally devastating and truthful of all. I therefore suggest that this transends all other art. My diorama isn't far behind lol.

It's my favourite Muse song but sadly I still haven't heard this live. I voted for it (inc. Bliss & CE) to be played at Wembley this year. I was gutted that they didn't but hey, at least they played the other two. Showbiz is fucking EPIC!
