Beloved by senior citizens, you mean. The awful awful vomitously repulsive music of the '60s and '70s that replaced truly sacred liturgical music is one of the factors that contributed to the mass exodus of my generation and those below from the faith. Such obscenely awful music - I grew up with all of those insipid songs - is one of the things that taught us that there was nothing sacred going on and which made Mass such a spiritually dead and tedious experience. If and when we get the grace to come back to the faith, we don't come back to the Novus Ordo, which is just as awful as we remembered. We come back and find the true sacred worship we were robbed of growing up. It's impossible to truly lift your heart and mind to God in the same way at the Novus Ordo mass, which is completely banal, unworthy of God, and not even Catholic in tradition or theology. If any of you even care about worshiping Him the way that He wants, dictates, and deserves in justice - as opposed to the way you want to do it - ditch the ugly and unworthy music and make a real offering. You'll actually get back some of the people who left, too. And then maybe you'll still be around in 20 years.

Same with me!!!! Isn’t it awesome? I had been so lost in my faith, that is, until I came to know our Lord through Catholicism. I truly feel that this is the Church that Jesus Christ has created for us!!!! For the life of me I cannot figure out why Catholicism gets such a bad rap. It is imperfect, but those who turn their backs on our church, do nothing to bring God’s love and grace to all and help create the perfect church. I pray daily that people will return to the church and rejoice with us! We are so lucky to share the Eucharist!

I heartily agree with what you say about hymns in the majority ofprotestant churches. Some stick to the Victoria hymns with difficult words to understand and dreary tunes. I have been attending Sunday Masses both online and in person, where an effort is being made to enliven the service. I am now 74 years old and have a funeral plan in place. It will be held in a protestant church, but will be celebrated by Anglo-Catholic priests, who will use hymns I have chosen and all are from the Catholic hymnals. I hope you will have all your needs met in the years to come.

I AM LUTHERAN AND WE SING these hymns at the Eucharist. The Catholics sing hymns by Lutheran composers such as Bach. Hymns belong to God not by any one church.

What are the reasons for their falling into complacency, becoming indifferent and even hostile towards Christ and the Christian Faith? The fault with many Catholics is that they think baptism is a graduation from having acquired knowledge and understanding of their faith. After completing their catechism classes or RCIA journey, they no longer seek out opportunities to continue growing their faith, both doctrinally and spiritually. Their only occasion to grow in faith is the one-hour Mass that they attend every Sunday. This is hardly enough to sustain the life of a Catholic. Those who do not grow in their faith are already losing their faith. There is no neutrality. How, then, can we grow in our faith? Firstly, we need to deepen our intimacy with God through Christ. In Christ, we come to know and love the Father. Secondly, we must be rooted in the Word of God. We cannot grow in our faith without deepening our love and appreciation for the Word of God through bible study and most of all, a prayerful reading and sharing of the Word of God. Thirdly, we must seek the support of the Christian community. A Catholic without the support of his fellow Catholics will eventually fall out from the faith, especially when he undergoes the trials and challenges of life, the influence of secularism, and the materialistic, individualistic and atheistic views of the world. Fourthly, to grow our faith, we need to evangelise and be a witness to Christ. We evangelise ourselves by evangelising others. By sharing our faith with others, we strengthen our own faith. By teaching our faith to others, we grow in understanding and clarity in what we believe in. Finally, growing in faith is to grow in our Christian life. This is the most effective form of witnessing. It means that those of us who are baptised must live a life of holiness and purity, free from sin and a bad conscience. A life of holiness and charity are the fruits of a strong spiritual life and a life of hope founded in the promises of God. If the Catholic Church is accused of being satanic, that is no more than its Founder, Jesus Christ, was accused of. When our Lord was on earth, he had the same problem. He was driving demons out, and some said he was doing this by the power of the devil. How did Jesus respond? He said, “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him” (Mk 3:23-26). The Catholic Church drives out the devil, too. This practice is called exorcism. No one can deny that the Catholic Church has been doing exorcisms on people and driving out Satan for nearly two millennia. Therefore, we must reason like Jesus: If the Catholic Church were from the devil, it could not drive the devil out. We shouldn’t be surprised when such charges are made against the Catholic Church. Jesus told us, “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master; it is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household” (Mt 10:24-25). Weak Catholics become protestants Strong Protestants become Catholics,

These statements that I make are true and can be proven from the quran, hadiths, tafsirs and the official islamic government website of Saudi Arabia. I myself converted to Islam because I thought that I would find some truth in it but when I actually started to study it I came to terms with the ugly truth about it. This is when I realized being a Christian is the only way to salvation and it is my duty as his brother to show him what I have learnt through studying the cult which he himself has not taken the time to do. Islam is not a religion of peace but a cult! I dont pretend to be chosen here, its a simple truth that I am trying to make my brother aware of and he is not listening to me. Instead of him just hearing me out and actually allowing me to show him all the wrongs in it so that he can go and see it for himself, he insults me by telling me how can he even listen to somebody who is financially no where in life! The problem with us as Christians is that we are too tolerant with others but it is the very opposite when its the other way around. We are to stand up for what we believe in instead of always turning the other cheek and saying amen to everything. Those who stand for nothing will for anything! In my case here I am giving my brother silent treatment, instead of back and forth I have decided to become silent towards him. In silence Gods speaks, I have tried to warn him as his brother who loves and cares for him, his response to me were insults and shame so now I will let him reflect on his own.

@@sleepdreamrepeat7863 His fate is for god to decide, not you. You say he will be denied before the gates of heaven: then let him! You are, quite literally, to turn the other cheek (as stipulated in catholic teachings). I don’t deny that you have to stand up for what you believe in: if he makes fun of you or tries to convert you then take whatever action is necessary to stop it. However, keep in mind that the pursuit of the lord is the most noble of all, and though they might be off course by a couple hundred degrees they are still trying to achieve what you are. As mortals we cannot presume to know god’s will and you must continue to show love for him.
