just got the Bose speakers my dad bought 40 years ago hooked up with the original receiver. I can't express how impressive something from that long ago still sounds amazing! I really hope Bose never loses sight of craftmanship and longevity.

earlier the main aspect was to make the most juice and pleasure of hearing... now is to make most money of a project... these are my feelings about quality. want to have brand new system with a lot of juice and pleasure? pay tonnes of money. i stay with goldie oldie gear. maybe they aint perfect but have a lot of warmth.

I moved my stuff into a different room. I went back and forth and back and forth between settings and couldn't get it right. It would seem right and I'd play something else and it was off again. It's always the recording condenser mic, positioning and mastering that makes the most difference. Recording still sounds spectacular no matter the low grade format mp3 youtube etc.

Great tracks! This points out how good recording and mastering will shine through on lossy codecs. Lack of compression, purist microphone and studio technique, pristine top of the line recording equipment used to its best advantages, and limited processing, overshadows the differences in bit rates. People look at the loudspeakers here (which I think were hand made using Morel drivers) thinking they are listening to them :-) The audio was directly uploaded expertly from some wonderful recordings. Thanks!

sad to say youtube compresses audio a lot most of the time, this is why i find a CD or if i can’t purchase it, i’ll find it uncompressed legally for free in some way.. I suggest getting apple music as they have loveless audio on many songs, even some of the newer songs, and many Beatles songs sound awesome on apple music. i wish youtube didn’t but it would be slower if they sent the uncompressed audio as well as it being massive in size.

UKposts is by far the largest music streaming service in the World. UKposts has to compress videos the way they do. Google only has so many data server center’s around the World that cover all of Google’s content from Android phone’s to all the available Google application’s. The entire Google ecosystem is on those data center servers. All of it has to be streamed from a data network center to Google’s entire customer base globally 24/7/365.

Well stated. If you don't believe it, google to find a test for listening to tracks in various compressed and lossless formats. Even on good systems or headphones many times you will be hard pressed to notice a difference. I tested 3/6 while listening to a popular pair of studio grade headphones on a decent amp. Well recorded and engineered music will almost fully shine through even older MP3 Compression techniques. I never noticed how important this was until I put together my hi-fi stereo system and headphone setup. Now it often dictates the music I listen to.

I've long known that the best way to get true high fidelity is fundamentally the care taken in the recording. Next comes the method of storing the music for us the consumers. These two things become the input. I've heard cheap systems sound like audiophile systems just because the input was done with care. Thank you for this list of tracks as I have just set up a new system in my new living room and I'm in a wonderful listening zone and slowly being rocked and swung into a zone of audio bliss.

argo117007 I have the quad drivers as well. Upgraded about a year ago from the triple drivers. I got them on sale for $100 on amazon during a flash deal. So far I have had no issues with them and they are extremely durable. They’ve been caught on a desk a few times with no damage at all. I try to be as careful with them as I can but it will take a lot to break them. If you find them on sale for $125 or less it’s a steal for the build quality and the sound.

Thanks for the up... I needed this. I replaced a 10" Polk subwoof with a 12" Klipsch and while it has more deep bottom, on the low bitrate compressed tracks common on UKposts it felt less clear and punchy. I'm crossing over pretty high, 120Hz, from a Denon DRA-800 (2ch only) into a set of satellites I built with Bose clone 6.5" mids with time-aligned passive xover ribbon tweets. I was a tad worried I'd made a mistake with the Klipsch but with solid material like this I am, thankfully very happy. Source is Asus Essence II. It's all clear, tight, and smooth

I was checking out different audio tests for my new desk top speakers and sub, and came across this. I was mildly unimpressed with the speakers, then this came up, and that changed my opinion of them entirely. Very happy with my speakers, not at all happy with a lot of the tests that are on youtube, lol. This was clean, and incredibly effective. Thanks for this

I use the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones in both wired and Bluetooth modes listening. If I want Hi-Res audio I find the UKposts albums on Apple Music by cross reference. For Individual songs I use Shazam.

crazy, i was listening electronic music on my Adam F7 connected to my Audient id22 and i was thinking... wow all of this music sounds a little bad,maybe the monitors are broken and then i listened to this playlist and im sure my monitors are working perfectly lol

Testing LG V50's Quad DAC + Audio Technica M40x, it's pretty breathtaking. Even with compressed audio, its still is great. This is where limitation is compensated by skill.

This is exactly what I was looking for to test my new speakers (Sony Core SS-CS5's) (on a plain old Sony STR-DE598 receiver) (and little KLM's with separate super tweeters hooked up) Thank you for your upload. (Excellent sounds coming thru my modest system) Oh and almost forgot also a plain old $100 Sony floor Sub)

For AAC, UKposts will play a maximum audio bitrate of around 126 kbps. For Opus, it can be between 56 kbps and 165 kbps. This is regardless of the audio source format being uploaded because UKposts will automatically re-encode videos to use their format. So even if you upload a video with 24/96 lossless audio, UKposts will convert it to 126 kbps AAC in an MP4 container.

Personally, I hear the difference between loseless and mp3, and if the studio recording is of high quality, bitrate compression and UKposts conversion does not affect the pleasure of listening.

@@jasonbauer5488 Tidal music streaming service. Apple does 192/24 bit audio of some of their music albums and songs. You have to manually select those audio codec’s in the Apple Music application settings.

With my new hi res audio technica ATH MSR7B headphones with balanced cable this sounds awesome. It's still compressed, thanks UKposts, and sometimes you can notice this especially in the low frequencies . When I hear the WAV or FLAC versions of this songs this is noticeable . Thanks for this great upload.

Balanced cables do literally nothing unless you are more than 15ft of cable away from the source.

@@marcohermans3207 experience doesn't matter at all. Using scientific measurement equipment they've proven that it doesn't have an impact. Shorter lengths of cord aren't susceptible to the kinds of distortion and interference that balanced cables were invented to circumvent, despite what someone selling or marketing hundred or even thousand dollar balanced cables for consumer headphones might say. Balanced cabled were invented for stage settings where lengths of cable can span hundreds of feet, in cases where there is more than enough cable to pick up electronic interference and various of sources of signal distortion.

@@marcohermans3207 quite to the contrary. The human experience is subjective in its entirety. The brain is quite capable of making things sound better or worse based on some known change to the way you are listening without an actual increase in sound quality. Most people struggle to tell the difference between 128kbps, 320kbps, and lossless (especially the latter two) when listening to them blindfolded. The only thing that will not lie is proper scientific measurements. Your brain is capable of adding or subtracting from any of the senses at any time, and in a plethora of ways.
