This song has been out for over 3 years now, and I still get amazed every time i watch this MV. The symbolism, the play on words, how it represents the beginning stages of love, when you are constantly on the phone with the person you like. It starts with IU being woken up by what seems like an earthquake, which could mean her phone vibrating, or the impact this message from the person she likes has on her, that it shakes up her whole existence. She rushes down the stairs to check her mail, representing how we rush to our phone when we think our crush has texted us. The courtship process, she gets different gifts everyday, as in every day she gets to know this person more and more and the courtship begins, getting to know the person you like, texting back and forth non-stop. Then there is these explosions of flowers around her, how we get so excited and dance or smile, or squeal and get butterflies when the person we like triggers these reactions in us. She talks about their "rectangle box is bloom", as in their cellphones are filled with each others text and their new found love, she then says "we let roses bloom with our thumbs" as in every text they send, makes their love garden in their hearts grow bigger, this garden they are creating is so beautiful and exciting she can almost smell it in her head, it's a secret garden just for the 2 of them, as they are 2 accomplices in this new adventure, no one else. "Blueming" is a beautiful play on words, mixing Blooming and Blue. Being "blue" often gets interpreted as being sad, but it's not quite like that, it can mean being melancholic, missing someone, longing for someone or something. And "bloom" because its spring in their hearts, as their new love flourishes. Also blue flowers were a main symbol for the romanticism movements back in the day, representing hope, desire and deep love. I can't get enough of this amazing song and MV and IU as a genius artist

We need to protect IU, she lost 3 of her best friends back to back...after losing Jonghyun she said that she didn't even had time to cry for her best friend's death because of her busy schedule so she's still really very sad. She had to perform in concert even after getting to know about goo hara's death , she didn't even get any time to cry..she was wiping her tears turning back .Eight was released in mid 2020 so she was still in pain even after half an year after Sulli's death💔. Also she's been getting hate without doing anything wrong . She had to go through a lot in the beginning too, she didn't had enough food to eat or proper shelter to live, she couldn't even live with her parents because of the poverty. Her grandmother raised IU and her brother only with the money she made by selling hair accessories. Her dream was shattered 20 times by getting rejected. She was called pig and got scolded in her first ever live performance. Her first debut was a failure..she thought she'll be removed from the company, she begged radio show hosts to give her a program. People called her Lolita, told her stop acting when she was casted in my mister, she got so much hate during her first ever self produced album release, she couldn't even do promotion for her album because people were saying such worse things to her. It was the biggest topic in k-pop industry during that time, they just created a stupid thing and false rumour to make her album not become a hit..later that person who created rumour asked sorry for her and said what he told was wrong but already too much of damage was done , they were scared of her winning so they played dirty card their plan was to block her promotions and after succeeding in their plan they said sorry and acted as if nothing happened. Such things have happened to her many times. But everytime she faces them alone. I know she's a strong person, but still she's a human being too, even she'll also feel pain so please protect her... 😢. If you want you can hate me but please don't hate my idol..she doesn't deserve any hate. Once you get to know her properly you'll definitely regret hating her. I don't know where to say these things so I'm saying them here , thinking if atleast one person understands this and stops hating her atleast I was able to do something for her. I just want to protect my idol🥺..so if you really wanna hate , hate me instead of her.
