Yess! I think her mom will be more comfortable and will be able to express herself better. Nikkie, als je van plan bent om dit te doen, dan wil ik je graag helpen als je daarvoor openstaat. Ik weet niet of ik een ‘kans’ heb, gezien je zo bekend bent en waarschijnlijk naar een ondertitelbureau zou gaan hiervoor, (?) maar ik zou het echt heel tof vinden om de video’s met je moeder te ondertitelen. Ik ben een student aan de Vertaalacademie in Maastricht en ik wil na mijn studie ondertitelaar worden. En naast het feit dat ik het superleuk zou vinden, staat het ook goed op mijn CV natuurlijk! Ik weet niet of je dit überhaupt gaat lezen, maar it’s worth a shot 🍀

mama should never apologize for not being fluent in english! She speaks two languages which is so much more than many people. My mama's first language isn't English either (it's portuguese) but I always remind her how awesome it is that she can speak both :)

Im 11 and I speak 3 languages Malay, English and Arabic.....Im malaysian we learn 3 languages in middle school also high school and in universiti we can learn any languages Im proud of being Malaysian! If I doesnt sound like an 11 maybe bc I always got high marks in exams?

This video is proof that speaking a language is all about confidence. Your mom's english isn't perfect but it's decent and people are able to understand her and that's the important part. I like her accent it's part of her heritage.

Nikkie, don’t worry about having your Moeder speak in Dutch! She speaks good English, but if it allows her to express herself easier, I wouldn’t mind subtitles at all! I really enjoy seeing more of momma tutorials :)

I love that idea but I feel like no one ever does that when ppl ask for it. Like, when someone is not a native english speaker, or mixed, or something like that, I know a few hispanic-usamerican beautubers that say they wanna do something in spanish but it never happens. I wish tho.

Natuurlijk bedoel ik niet dat letterlijk elke Nederlandse moeder zo Engels praat. Ik ben zelf moeder en ik praat niet zo. Maar het deed me wel aan mijn eigen moeder denken. Dus misschien had ik moeten zeggen dat de meeste Nederlandse moeders van boven de 55 zo praten.

You can just see her thinking okay switch to English/this is weird because we usually speak Dutch/ don't say ja say yes! The language switch struggle is real!
