Awesome scape. But i would have used the black sponge simpler. Just cut it in blocks. And push it in between the filters and behind the rocks. Easy to remove and rinse and the top of the sponges would be part of their island.

A crested gecko is in my opinion the best beginner reptile. If you're into making aquariums you'll fall in love with creating vivariums...a nice sized bioactive enclosure with live plants, isopods and springtails is all you need to have little to no maintenance and a happy gecko. Mine is named Galileo and he was the perfect starter as his size wasn't intimidating to handle and his care is I'd say easier than most aquarium care. Plus they don't need to be fed live bugs ( it's recommended but not a must) 😊

I had a crab for 7 years. She recently passed but I loved her to bits! She only ever lost a leg and it was because she caught it in a new tank hideout thing I bought. Other than that every molt was perfect. I miss her. I love crabs! Definitely going to get more at some point.

love the new crab tank tamara, regs the missing leg and stuff, i not ever had crabs but i had a few blue lobster, they will grow back when they shed and grow a new shell, i had a blue that ripped off both its pincer arms, 2 sheds later they were back,, i dont know if yours have shed already or not, but if not a tip, they need a safe hiding space when they do, as they are very vulnerable at that time, as long as they feel safe they will shed and everything will grow back, maybe add a couple of small ish caves with some kind of plant cover going in, then they should be fine

Joey, when crabs grow, they mult, they drop off the exoskeleton. And there they come out soft until they harden their show up again.

Very cool tank! I once did a similar set up for a shell dweller tank that could be seen on three sides. I called it a “peninsula tank“.

And I told my husband I was keeping everything in storage because you’ll never know when I will need more tanks/cages 😂 I just feel like I need crabs now 😂 the kids would love it

But please dont let Joeys exceptional adhd:y adhd change direction of your tanks every 5 days like in his gallery! 😜 (I have followed Joey since he had 2000 subs and I love everything he has done for this hobby worldwide, so I feel entitled to bully him sometimes) I get nervous every time he step close to your tanks lol I have huge hope and expectations for your tanks and channel! People that dont follow this channel are stupid! Edit: Please change the name of your channel to Queen of DIY!

Should use egg crate to make a wall, then attach the foam to that would be stronger than just a foam wall

Need at least 10 gallon per crab so 15 was definitely too small to begin with. They will do better in the upgrade.

Ichthyologist here to settle a debate. The correct pronunciation of betta is bet-tah not bait-ah. The origin of the common term betta is from the genus of which theses fish belong to, also being betta. This genus name is based off of a Malaysian word bettah also pronounced bet-tah as these fish are found naturally in Malaysia.
