Axminster Micro Lathe : bit.ly/3ynTjyb Cutting threads is so much easier with this attachment. Email me if you would like the STL file for the handle or for the handwheels shown in a previous video. myfordboy@gmail.com

Great to see myfordboy videos aimed at owners of an entry level lathe . This is where a lot of people start and all too often give up, because they are watching videos of a guy with a two ton Hardinge and can't understand why they're not getting the same results.

The pin and retaining clip mechanism is very clever.

fabulous idea, I hope you can get sponsored from Axminster tools, imagine them giving you some other products, your upgrades & addons to them will blow there minds

Nice design for the mandrel handle

It's inspiring to see high quality work done on the little lathe. The tailstock looks a bit "wiggly" to me, but clearly that wasn't an issues in having it hold the die and letting you do the threading operation.

That's going to make threading a lot easier. I really like the Terry Clip retaining pin, great idea 👍👍👍 Cheers, Alan.

You keep smacking that left thumb. I’ve been watching it heal for months now and you whack it again. Thanks for the video.

Impressive. Suggestion: use the same 3D printed knob for the handle of a new tail stock locking bolt, replace the existing bolt with a threaded bar it should extend to just above the tail stock with the knob or T bar on top - quality of life modification. I don't have a Axminster I have a 1979 Emco Unimat micro lathe, has the same position locking bolt for the tail stock

Good suggestion. Still more ideas to try.

Do you find the rotary on-off switch OK to use? I'd be tempted to add an additional rocker switch for faster turn off. Really intrigued with this lathe. I'll look into it's capabilities/max dimensional work.
@myfordboyРік тому
You have to use the rotary switch as it has to be returned to the off position before the motor will run ( soft start). There is a link to this lathe in the description below the video.I am really pleased with it.

I can't imagine it will be long before you replace that tail stock screw for something more convenient!
@myfordboyРік тому
I have something planned.
@vizionthingРік тому
ah you beat me to it!
@SouseMouseРік тому
I don't like to use threadlocker where it can get on plastic parts- they have a tendency to crumble. I hope whatever polymer you printed with is okay with it.
@jimurrata6785Рік тому
I can't think of one. 🤔 Anerobics are really bad that way.

So are we going to have to start calling you Axminsterboy or Microboy now then? ;))
