Love the camera work at 1:35 where they pan right to see what was steaming in the grass 50 meters back as if the car decided to stop for a quick crap and left something in the grass! Obviously the camera operator thought it was an important thing that fell off the back! .

This is real life and not a game like gran turismo 😄. I have been in a car that crashed at maybe 20kmh and the hood was bent in half and the front smashed. The force was harder than I thought. Thankfully we had all the seatbelts on. The other car who has cut our way got pushed 1m sideways

They had a rep for doing that back in the day! Improvements in tyres, suspension and stability electronics have managed the problem to an extent but as we can see, they still don't overcome the basic laws of physics completely. The engine is still in the wrong place!

I was really interested to see the rule about no drifting. Having watched several Nurburgring ‘crash’ videos I couldn’t believe the number of drifting related (and poor car control) accidents recorded. I suppose we have programmes like Top Gear to ‘thank’ for this bizarre obsession.

I learned on a Golf 4 TDI to drive. Then drove a BMW E28 524td after that. Raced the notorious Schauinsland Bergrennstrecke near Freiburg (Hillclimb race track). In its days it was even more dangerous than the Nurburgring. RWD is not that dangerous, if you drive it properly. Never had any near crashes with RWD but always with FWD. Some say FWD is safer. I don't think so....
