As Nishikori's fan since 2012, I agree with you. His unnecessary unforced error on a critical play againts the top player is unacceptable. As his fan, it's so stresfull to watch his comeback on 2021, because he makes a lot of amazing play but can't closed the match and win the game against the top player. He needs more consistency and composure against the top player and minimize his unforced errors. Because most of the time it's not only his serve that become the liability, but the unforced error from his BH/FH return on a critical moment that makes him choke even that shot is when he's on offensive shot

These days when i see him experimenting in each match i get bad vibes!…It usually means something about his traditional and reliable style doesn’t work, so he has to switch back and forth! This is very risky and more often than not it doesn’t work with Djokovic unfortunately! :( (especially the last couple of seasons!…)

Man i really do hope he has another couple of good years in him left winning grand slams, but i fear the worst with each new milestone missed and match lost at grand slams!…I just want him so much to end up winning more grand slams than Nadal!
