And though at first I had to back down, I both scared him enough that he never was able to use his new influence, and planted seeds throughout the community where he now is watched at every event he attends. He was then kicked from the group I was part of completely after some other, mostly unrelated political/monetary stuff, but it was because (and this the director has said) because I had already planted seeds of doubt in his motives. I spoke up, and was immediately put in contact with some family friends who were significantly more powerful than I knew, spreading my message and causing others to connect things they had brushed off. He has lost board positions, and his money stopped being able to buy the same level of influence.
