I’m a longtime Alabama fan who lives in California and spent 8 years working in Antioch where Najee went to High School. As a matter of fact I used to do Inspections at those very apartments where he lived. Used to be a nice quiet suburban town until a lot of Bay Area transplants who were priced out during the late 90’s, early 2000’s housing boom moved in. Unfortunately many brought big city problems with them and Antioch now has quite a crime problem. Thankfully Najee was able to avoid that. God bless him.

I live in London and have a vague, passing interest in Gridiron. I happened to chance on a news piece about him having a draft party at a shelter/refuge he went to as a child. Out of curiosity I went to see a couple of his athletic prowess in his chosen field. Blimey. He’s got presence. Further down the internet wormhole I’ve found myself here commenting on this fella. What an inspiration. I reckon he’s destined for something great. Good luck to him. As an aside, I’m a fan of the Arsenal. Many years ago, when the Arsenal had a competitive team, they had a wonderfully balletic, French forward named Thierry Henry. Najee Harris glides on the turf like him with similar devastating output. That was a really good video. Wish I'd had a Mom so good. He talked about growing up in poverty. I grew up just barely above poverty, stayed there most of my life BUT ended up homeless for about 10 years. The first 5 years were spent taking care of my wife that was terminally ill. After she passed away I spent another 5 trying to get over (or move on from) the whole experience. So I understand his motivation & envy the athleticism to do what he has done. Very talented player & I believe as long as he can stay healthy the sky is the limit for this young man. Very proud that he decided to go to Alabama, cuz I don't think he would have been noticed as much without being on the undefeated 2020 Championship Team. Mac Jones, Najee Harris & Devonta Smith led that offense to victory in the toughest games. The Ole Miss game. I was more worried about that game than the Georgia game going in to it. I knew they would persevere against Georgia, but Lane Kiffin is a really great motivator & play caller & Najee helped carry Bama to victory that night.

I lived in Martinez and played QB for Alhambra High school way back in 1978 and also lived in San Ramon 1976 and played QB against John Elway from Pleasanton High and when I saw Harris back in 2017 at Antioch our rivals from Martinez I started following this kid and knew he was as Good and a possible Bo Jackson impact type player, and being a 49er fan hoped SF & Shanahan would pull the trigger to get Harris with that high pick but Pittsburgh snapped him up.
