My opinion of this movie was that if Venom was a TV show, this would be a typical episode. Venom/Eddie accidentally creates a new symbiote, Venom reveals new plot-convenient skills to help Eddie, Eddie has amusing drama with his ex, Venom eats villain's head.

Venom is hooked more to nerves, so he isn't fully capable of morphing certain parts of his body compared to Carnage who is blood fused. The moment Cletus touched him, he is an offspring as well as tied to his blood, so he can make weapons out of his blood and more. I think the red ones are suppose to be stronger than Venom

There's a whole thing about red symbiotes being stronger, terrifying even to their own kind, almost the way we would act if we saw someone turn out to be a legit vampire. Venom's reacting the way a human would, having to explain to an alien 'Nono, I know it's superficially like us but it's just been drinking from that guy's neck, it is NOT the same' - I think you only get them when someone consumes the blood of a matched symbiote host or something.

It's honestly weird how they did this movie,in the comic books cletus and carnage are an even more perfect bond than eddie and venom,so much so that they refer to themselves as "I" rather than "we".

One fact I love about this movie is because Tom Hardy plays both Venom and Eddie, they had him record Venom's lines and then played them over loud speakers so he could interact with himself.

Also, no, Eddie/Venom did not timejump. That scene was a tie-in to No Way Home, he was transported to a different reality, just like Octavius and Osbourne and such. End credits of No Way Home show him being in that place, and then disappearing again when he's sent back to his own reality without paying for his bill (you reacted to this already ;) ).

I enjoyed this movie and the “break-up/getting back together” aspect lol! Lots of cute and funny moments.

Don't know if anyone else mentioned this, the symbiots have a hive knowledge, including from other universes, so Venom reconised spiderman because another vernom in another universe know of him.

The reason Carnage being red is special was because in the comics Carnage and Cletus are bonded by blood, it makes their connection permanent. Although the movie and the comics are different, the comics is all we can base the movie on.

Saw this in theaters, I wasn’t expecting anything great, therefore I had a good time.

I loved the fake out with the post-credits scene. They’re talking about the origin of the symbiotes so you’re thinking oh maybe this is like a vision. Venom is “hacking” Eddie’s brain to show Knull or something. But nope! Multiverse jump!

You might know this by now, but Eddie and Venom weren't transported through time at the end but to a different universe, which happens to be the MCU!

If I remember correctly, in the comics every descendent in a symbiotes bloodline is stronger than the previous one, so carnage is stronger than venom, and carnage's children are stronger than him. The idea being that they naturally have the abilities of the parent (along with some of their own) whilst adapting and gaining more from new hosts. In other continuities (again if I remember correctly) it's explained that different colours relate to different natural traits and abilities the symbiote was born with, red ones were naturally more unstable and violent, even towards their own kind.

venom is not from marvel cinematic universe, so that end credits was actually a very big deal because not only did that tease a bit more about what might happen in no way home, it also shows that marvel will probably add more non-mcu movies/characters and make them official toby and andrew's spiderman movies are also not mcu movies so the fact that we also got them there further widens the scope of possibility of what marvel will do next just putting that here hehe

Natural Born Killers with Woody and Juliette Lewis is a love story. It also stars Robert Downey Jr and Tommy Lee Jones who's even crazier than when he played Two-Face.

Latest fun fact: I only have one this time. Symbiotes in the comics take on traits of those they possess. In the case of Carnage, Cletus is so unhinged that although Carnage has the sound and fire weaknesses of other symbiotes, unlike in this movie, it relishes being hit by those attacks as it loves pain in all it's forms, regardless of if it's dealing or receiving it. When bored, Carnage plays with lighters.

Another fun fact about symbiotes, their sustinence is a certain chemical called phenathylamine. It’s found in various fungi, chocolate, and brain matter. Which is why Venom needs to eat human brains or he will starve-the chocolate helps but it’s not a complete substitute. At first he didn’t need to eat, but after he drained Eddie of his own phenathylamine, that’s when he went zombie mode.

Symbiotes reproduce asexually, meaning sometimes they leave a pice of themselves anywhere, sometimes even without noticing it, these pices if they attach to a perfect host they will grow a consensus of their own, in this case Venom is Carnage father, and at the end when Patrick mulligans eyes glow blue that is carnage offspring become Sybiotic with Mulligan. Now in the comics mulligan turns into a guy named toxin and he is actually a hero to, his whole look is inspired on Spider-Man, but just has this symbiotic badass look

Ok, imma just say it: *Venom* is probably my favourite _Marvel_ antihero, and *Carnage* is definitely in my top 5 villains from *Spider-Man’s* rogues gallery (red is my favourite colour, which works in *Carnage’s* favour _a lot,_ lol)! I think they did a truly _spectacular_ job with these two _'Venom'_ movies, and I really hope that we’ll get a third! Venom takes place before the events of Far From Home and, more importantly, in another universe than MCU's main one. Symbiotes have this multiversal hive consciousness and what actually happened in the end was Doctor Strange's spell summonned everyone that knows Peter Parker's Spider-Man, but since Tobey's Venom died, the spell summoned this one, because he can tap in the memories of other versions of Venom for other universes. The end credit of No Way Home is Venom in that Mexican hotel's bar and the spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker returned Venom to his universe, but not before he left that smudge of himself.

the thing that happened with mulligan is that in the comics he becomes Toxin the son of Carnage and the Grandson of Venom. Toxin is sometimes classified as a Villain sometimes a Hero and sometimes an Anti hero. And the post credit scene shows them being transported into the MCU after the Doctor Strange Spell in No Way Home and then at the end of No Way Home they are sent back with venom leaving some bit of himself to attach to Peter or flash.

“This blood is like Venom’s blood” it’s actually his offspring. It’s not blood but another symbiote “That is a red one” in the comics Carnage and Cletus have a blood bond which makes their symbiosis stronger and it’s established that offspring are stronger than the parents so Carnage is stronger than Venom not really by color but by being his offspring. He just so happens to be red and blood bonded which makes him an even bigger threat The movie was fun but the ending was really disappointing to me. Carnage is one of the best and most terrifying Spider-Man villains so killing him off was dumb imo. The last scene with Mulligan is hinting at him getting his own symbiote known as Toxin. He’s in the Venom Carnage run where he teams up with Spider-Man to fight Venom and Carnage who are just causing chaos. But without Carnage that storyline can’t really be adapted properly cuz in this universe Venom isn’t a villain and you can’t just make Toxin a villain cuz he’s bonded to a cop, he has a moral compass. So who would be the villain? When you have two symbiote antiheroes can there really be a good conflict? If they can pull something together that would be awesome but honestly I’m not super hopeful Fun fact: this movie was directed by Andy Serkis. Ulysses Klau in the MCU or as he’s better known for Gollum in LOTR and Caesar in the Planet of the Apes trilogy

So, from what I can tell out of the three colored symbiotes from the movies is they each hold a different power of sorts. The black are the least powerful, and in Venoms case the easiest to get attatched to certain people ir customs The greys (such as Riot, Drakes parasite from I am Venom) are slightly more powerful and have more freedom with their shapeshifting The Reds (like carnage) are the most violent and powerful. (Also Carnage was formed by another symbiote in this case Venom, merging with red blood cells, so when he was bitten it released a new one)

The essential difference between Venom and carnage is that in the comics, Venom and its host Eddie Brock at least try to do good things sometimes, though by exceedingly violent means. Carnage and its host Cletus Cassidy are simply monsters, killing and savoring the terror they inflict in their victims.

This movie doesn't explore the reason for the difference in physical nature between Venom and Carnage. From the comic books, Venom learned how to operate physically in our reality by being part of Spiderman for about a year. He tends to be basically human in shape, and jumps and clings to buildings. Carnage learned how to operate by being part of an imaginative, torturous murderer.

FUN FACT! In the comics apparently the klyntar cannot survive off of chicken brains. I don't remember the reason, I just thought it was an odd and neat callback, despite never reading the comics myself. (Edit): Apparently the same thing applies with the chocolate. Also I imagine Venom just looked through Eddie's pants pocket to see the caller ID. He does seem to see around Eddie in 360 degrees, also with a more sophisticated (on the surface, and also less powerful) spider-sense.

Not Spider-Man or Marvel related but I highly recommend watching Batman 1989 even though you're not a big Tim Burton person the movie is amazing his rendition of Gotham is so unique and timeless being an inspiration for The amazing Animated Series, and Arkham games. Maybe watch it before you react to The Batman or could watch after depends up to you. Also recommend the amazing Mask of the Phantasm animated Batman film the only Batman animated film to play in Theatres still my favourite Batman film followed by The Batman. Third favourite Batman movie is The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and Part 2 both i highly recommend if you want to see a whole different Batman experience. All Four of these films are amazing but for some reason reactors skip them and jump straight into Nolan movies which is a shame as there's so many other Batman movies outside of Nolan's films. On 27:00 They travelled into another universe (MCU) but the same hotel where it was cleaner and daytime outside. From my understanding Venom exists in the Sony Universe no idea if this is connected to The Amazing Spider-Man or not.

Venom gave birth to Carnage, but in the comics he also gave birth to several other Symbiotes including Riot (The Grey Symbiote in Venom 1), Scream and other's whose names I can't fully remember. Carnage gave birth to Toxin. Carnage is naturally stronger than his father Venom, because he is bonded to Cletus through his blood, so he can shapeshift parts of his body to mimic blades and tentacles, and because offspring are stronger than their parents, in a way it's like Venom is the newest flip phone and Carnage is the oldest Samsung, the oldest Samsung would probably still dominate the newest flip phone and naturally Toxin is stronger than Carnage and from what I heard Toxin is unlike ordinary Symbiotes.

I LOVE Venom! Just in general, like comics, games, now movies... I actually like Carnage as a villain though too, sad to see him killed. But Venom is probably my favorite character in all of Marvel 😁

I really like the cheesiness of this film. Ravencroft is an institute for the criminally insane and if you're interested, there's a graphic novel about it at Barnes & Noble. Symbiotes have their own planet called Klyntar and ruled by the dark elder god Knull. Both Punisher films (1989, 2004) would be great for you to watch. If you can find it, there's an older version of Captain America (1992) that would be a treat to see. Matt Salinger plays Steve Rogers and there was a short-lived show too. You might want to check out Marvel's Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage, Daredevil with Ben Affleck, and Elektra with Jennifer Garner.
