You know, I always wondered why she hit him a second time in the first Avengers movie. I never picked up on the fact that he called her Tasha instead of her actual nickname, Nat. That's an incredibly subtle way to show that he still wasn't in control of himself.

Okay since I see people saying they don’t know what happened in Budapest, let me explain and maybe op can pin it. Clint was sent by SHIELD to kill Natasha, but he changed his mind because he found out she wanted to get away from the Russian program. She and Clint then blew up the building Dreykov and his young daughter, Antonia were in, believing they had killed them both. (We learn in Black Widow that the mission failed. They both lived and Antonia became Taskmaster.) As a result, the Hungarian special forces put the entire city of Budapest (or Buda and Pest, as the two sides are separated by a river) under lockdown and a massive manhunt ensued, from which Nat and Clint had to fight to escape with their lives. (So instead of fighting a whole army of aliens like in New York, Clint and Natasha had to fight the entire police force of Budapest.) Natasha explains all of this to Yelena in Black Widow: that they went into hiding for ten days, spending two of those ten days in the overhead compartment in the subway station (where she hides with Yelena from Taskmaster). Eventually they were able to get out of the city and she defected to SHIELD. When this story is recounted by Nat in Black Widow, it is - fittingly - the first time she has returned to Budapest since it happened. That’s the story, guys.

I just now found this while searching for clips of Clint & Nat before watching "Hawkeye" tomorrow. Nice selections and I enjoyed the captions. I miss them, too.
